Beijing guitar player...

Thought I'd share this short clip with you all. I just got back from China, where I was working on some research for a project called ChinaVine.org. While in Beijing, I was able to meet and hang out with Second Hand Rose (formerly known as Second Hand Rose Band). Go here http://wiki.rockinchina.com/index.php?title=Second_Hand_Rose_Band for more info on them. Anyway, the guitar player was amazingly smooth and innovative. His name is Yao Lan, and he's super cool. The solo that comes in around 1:14 is pretty interesting; the fretboard tapping he's doing mimics a traditional Chinese instrument/approach. I had a few pics of some of my Devi/ILF pedals on my phone, and he dug seeing them...He told me there weren't too many choices for boutique pedals around there.
