But like you say, we are two complete opposites but together however we have are as close as we are with our siblings, sometimes even closer.

Exactly. My friend recognizes that I'm a better guitar player than him, but I recognize his talents and allow him to shine, because that's what makes him happy. Once I let him have his moments, he brings me in and never lets me leave. You can't be alpha male and be his friend-friend. He has to be alpha. Not in the sense that he will mock you to better his position in front of others. He just likes to be in charge and is generally a very smart and capable guy, so I trust him to take the lead role.

It's the same shame we feel for our bodies. We can't we go swimming in our undies and not feel ashamed? Similarly why can't we tell our friends what a change in patterns has meant to us? It's strange.

it is strange. i'm far more ok with my body than towards my feelings, simply because i usually can't find the words to say them and i kind of leave them unsaid. i guess i'm a very private person and have been known and do harbour stuff inside of me which i don't let out unless the time is right.

i have always been cool towards her boyfriends all that, so i don't know why she's doing this to me.............. women be crazy ya'll...

i probably have some part in this situation which i still don't fully understand...... gotta get to the bottom of this.

Dude, I think there may be some jealousy involved? no that your best friend wants to be in a relationship with you, but maybe she thinks she's losing you to her friend, especially since you moving away with her. But you know what, when it comes to women and how they react to stuff...i still dont get it...so i may be way off!

she knew i was meaning to leave the country ASAP, and now i had the chance and i'm taking it. not just doing it because of the new GF... everyone around me, when it comes to friends, is quite clear that my objective in this life above all is to make music.

but yeah... women don't even understand themselves, emotionally, so i sometimes wonder why i even try to understand them.

Complete U-turn back to guitars a second - DRONEFORBREAKFAST you're moving to the fucking GAK store.

I am a bit jealous, because that's like the only big fucking guitar shop in the UK

oh, brother, don't tell me these things. that is like plotting my demise.

i need to find a job there ASAP and the first places i'm gonna drop resumes at will be guitar centers, etc., that would be awesome, to work in a decent guitar store.

Marlon, good luck with that. I'd love to work in a guitar store, too. I wish I could help out more, but I'm pretty isolated here in Ireland.

Now I know the benefits to running clean with distorted and am planning on implementing this into my live rig...but here was the mixing theory I came up with based on that and wanted to see if anyone had done something similar:

2 4x12 Cabs

Clean Cab A: 1xSM57 1xSennheiser MD421
Distortion Cab B: 1xSM57 1xSennheiser MD421

Mix:

SM57 A panned hard right
Senn A panned 70-100% left

SM57 B panned hard left
Senn B panned 70-100% right

Leaving some fat space in the middle for bass, kick and vox.

I think that would work, you could also just record a straight clean and then re-amp it for maximum ability to play with the tone

thanks, dude

my GF got two jobs in the first week of being there, so i guess my chances are pretty good, plus she arrived in low-season. her looks probably did help, but i'm certain i can find something. i just don't want to work as a waiter any longer in my life, so i'm trying to avoid that.

Yeah im definitely going to see if that is within the ability of the guys studio...idk though...as convenient as it is and as great as it sounds I can't help but feel like it takes some of the magic out of the process...something about the tension of having to get it absolutely right on the spot and having direct control over the amp dynamics adds a certain something in my eyes.

They'll be plenty of jobs in Brighton for a young lad from Portugal with perfect English. Is your girlfriend over there now working? I bet you're pretty stoked to move. The weather is something that might take time getting used to, but from what I can tell the Portuguese don't have too much of a culture difference to the UK. You'll probably see a lot more chavs though, which kinda sucks.

definitely stoked.

she's working already, two part times. she has her sister there so it was easier for her to move like that.

she's checking houses for us this saturday, and my flight is booked for the 26th.

and yeah, the weather IS gonna suck for me, but it's something i'll have to live with like it or not. good thing is all houses have central heating, which we don't here, so it's only cold outside.

i definitely see what you did there............... but no.
