Re: power for mah pedals
Does the Mutron III use that crazy little 2-pronged plug, can't remember? I have a BiPhase but it's got a connected 3-prong cable. The CIOKS stuff comes with a weird little 2-prong adapter but I'm not sure what it's meant to power exactly...
And yeah, I use 3 DC10s for my board, all hidden under a removable floor. The CIOKOLATE wasn't available then and wouldn't fit even if it was. Sadly.

Re: power for mah pedals
wish i would have known about those CIOKS schnkes was talking about....
i just picked up a couple of PP2+ about a month ago. for the last many years i had been living off of two one spots with the chain and a few other odd adapters to power my shits. some of them hissed and some of them ticked. i got me some of that PP2+ and HOLY FUCK!!!!
you can get by with the one spots and daisy chains but trust me on this, i really wish i would have gone with something better way sooner.

Re: power for mah pedals
the mutron 3 has a 3 prong connection where it's own power supply plugs into it, so its probably the same as your biphase (which i want, BTW)
i recently saw a modded mutron 3 power supply with a 1/4" jack instead of the little 3 prong thing, that was kinda weird

Re: power for mah pedals
i can sit right here with my pedal board into my pignose while the lady is sleeping and it sorta sounds decent now! before i would have to pull off a one spot and just run like one pedal into the pignose. all the extra noise from the chain was a problem. so yeah, when im not hampered by a sleeping lady and can crank up the love buzz or the x100b its so so so much tastier now!

Which is preferred DC10 or AC10? AC10 would be for some EHX pedals and such? DC10 for normal pedals?

Do you have any ac pedals? I have to have an ac8 for my Jamman but you get more dc outlets so can power more conventional pedals with the DC 10. It is hard as anything to find an AC isolated power source though. Essentially the Cioks ac's or the Pedal Power AC. It's good if you think you might use an AC pedal at some point but for more pedals, go the DC
I power with an AC8 and a Team Tesla. Tesla is amazing and has higher current outputs than my AC8!

It really makes all the difference. People will bitch about spending a couple hundred on power supplies when they have 1-2K worth of pedals on their board. A power supply is one of the best investments I've ever made when it comes to gear. Beyond convenience of running everything with ease, the absence of HISS makes it worth every penny.
And the PP2+ is great, always loved mine. If it hadn't been for increased power needs, I would've never gone searching for something else. CIOKS is clearly winning the power supply game tho, no question.
Psyre wrote:Which is preferred DC10 or AC10? AC10 would be for some EHX pedals and such? DC10 for normal pedals?
DC10 if your running all DC pedals. It's got 10 outs configured into 8 isolated sections like the PP2+ but with more power:
4x 9V 100mA
2x 9V/12V 200mA
1x 9V/12V 400mA
1x 9V/15V 400mA
You can bridge outs 5 & 6 for 400mA too but you lose isolation.

The AC10 is ideal if you have one or two AC powered pedals. Again, there's 10 outs but this time configured in only 6 isolated sections. Goes like this:
2x 9V 100mA
2x 9V/12V 200mA
1x 9V/12V/15V DC 600mA OR 1x 9V/12V AC 800mA
1x 9V/12V/16V AC 800mA

Or go nuts and get this....

Re: power for mah pedals
brick supplies are problematic for me because i have sixteen pedals on my main board; i'd either have to have two or daisy-chain parts of the signal path off a single output. at the moment i'm using four 9V bugs, two OneSpots and two LiveWires that i got for $10 each at Guitar Center. the OneSpots power the main board and the looping board; the LiveWires run the Street Sweeper and the Slicer respectively. i have no idea how the LiveWires would do with a chain, but for running one thing apiece they're fine.
the thing i've found the most demanding about the 9V daisy chains is that if you run them with the pedals out of order to the signal path you can get NASTY ground loops. when i tried running the Slicer, which goes before the rackmounts when everything's running, and the looper stuff that comes after off the same OneSpot i got a buzz that was like plugging into a beehive.

Re: power for mah pedals
I have a one spot and then the adapter that shipped with my Flashback x4.
But my chain is Korg Pitchback > BAT Pharaoh > Fuzzrocious Demon King > TC Electronics Flashback x4 > EHX Holy Grail.
Admittedly, the Pharaoh was noisy as fuck on the One Spot. I switch it to a battery and fell in love with it again. I'm getting a Fuzzrocious Rat Tail this week that I'll throw in the chain/do some mixing about and see how things sound. So I'm really only running my Demon King, Tuner and Holy Grail on the One Spot. It's acceptable.
There's a little bit of noise but I'm not sure how much of that is 60hz hum from the basement/amps/etc. The RedBear MK60 needs a retubing and maybe some other general maintenance.
My two cents: A one spot will probably do the trick for a little while. You'll eventually probably want something better, I know I do.
