Hmmm... I wonder has someone invented a protective barrier that still allows for heat dissipation whilst the tube is being protected by vibrations. Surely there is something that can partially wrap around a tube or sit nearby that can absorb shocks and low frequencies.

on preamp tubes u can put dampener rings but they only help to prevent microphonic noise

tubes are just to hot and overheating is worse then vibrations

Seriously if anyone comes through CA and needs a few dates filled I can almost always make shit happen in: Oakland/SF, San Jose, Santa Cruz, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Diego. I also follow the ethos of touring bands payed first and foremost and always try to figure out accommodations for the bands I book if my own place is not an option for the night. Also if you contact me at least 6 months in advance...there is the option of performing ATOP A FUCKING MOUNTAIN. Past Mountain Giants: Thou, Leech, Kayo Dot, Serial Hawk, Lake of Blood, Hallow. If any one is interested we are actually trying to put together an all day fest for July 29th and want to make it as heavy as possible. Rad thing about mountain shows is even with only a week or two promotion we always have 50+ people come out and most of the time either tons of merch is sold or people end up donating more than the standard $5 so you can make a good chunk of gas money in an area that has mostly been just passed through for the most part until my buddies and I started putting shit like this together a few years ago.

This Sounds so awesome, But we are all the way over on the right coast and it will be a while before we head that far out. I would love that thought. :joy:

Well now at least you know that if you can make it to CA you have a lead to book some shows, we actually have a band from New Jersey, Fight Amp coming to play tomorrow, too stoked to get to play with them and to have piqued live-I-evil's interest enough to make the drive up...the magic of the internet is glorious.

I never even realized those dudes were brothers. Think it was you that brought it to my attention actually. ;)
Agreed.

I saw 'em open for Mouth Of The Architect and These Arms Are Snakes years ago, Settle Down City era, and had no idea who they were. They TOTALLY stole the show tho, just killed it. Couldn't believe how loud they were for a 3-piece, had no clue about their live stereo setup back then. Oh, that was the first time I really saw Emperor's stuff too since YW was rocking that 6-piece column setup back then. Amazing show, really nice guys to boot, will never forget that one.

My brother's old band played a show with young widows and coliseum years and years back, and both were rocking full emperor stacks. I bought my emperors entirely because of that show as well. I knew who both were, from their previous bands, but hadn;t seen these new bands.

Ryan was in The National Acrobat, first time i saw them.... 2000ish?
Evan and Ryan were both in Black Widows (Then changed name to black cross) together. Singer was from By The Grace of God. Evan played bass, Ryan played guitar. Later albums Nick from YW played bass and evan and ryan both played guitar.

Evan's first band that I heard was Breather Resist. the last breather resist material was what became settle down city (I think Nick was even in the band). The singer left or quit and evan took over. If you want to hear songs like mirrorfucker and formerer with a guy screaming his dick off, go here: http://roboticobscurities.blogspot.com/2010/07/breather-resist-non-album-tracks.html breather resist used to play out of shit tons of amps too. It's a bit of sacrilege, but i like the breather resist versions better.

My mom was born and raised in Louisville, KY so I've had a distinct interest in plunging into discovering the underground music scene there. It's real fuckin' cool how many good bands are there. Thanks for the info!

95lbs... :wha?: That's heavy. I complain at my 60lb combo for being so heavy, and that has a speaker in it and everything .
Catalinbread⁞⁞Earthquaker Devices⁞⁞Strymon⁞⁞Smallsound/Bigsound
Iron Ether⁞⁞Black Arts Toneworks⁞⁞Dr. Scientist⁞⁞Fairfield Circuitry
Tom Anderson⁞⁞Ibanez⁞⁞Guild⁞⁞Gretsch⁞⁞Fryette⁞⁞Audio Kitchen

Doom Room - type fast, riff slow

Meat Hammer weighs in close at 90, can't wait for the wheeled case to be finished, until then here's a big middle finger to myself and future chiropractor.

Hmmm...im wondering if one of those Peavey 400's might be good as a dedicated clean signal amp...although if im gonna run something like that im probably gonna stick to like a Sunn Beta or Concert Lead so im not responsible for upkeeping 10+ power tubes.

The one we played through yesterday sounded fucking godly with the clean channel. Bringing 185lbs of amp to a gig would be nuts!
