The unfortunate problem is cost and size, its near impossible to build a tube pedal with a compact footprint that will actually use the tubes as they should be used. Then on top of that the cost is ridiculously high due to the parts and design that needs to go into it. I agree that that it's a relatively untapped market, but that market would also be very very small due to cost. If I could get a tube version of a Moog Delay.... I'd... I'd... I'd sell a nut if i had too hahahahaha
What I'd like to do is install a switching system that allows for pedalboard control, whilst building the components and keeping the tubes and transformer safe in a heavy-duty large case. The pedals themselves will sit on top of the amp like a reverb or tremolo unit or in a rack and the small controller will be installed on your pedalboard like a normal pedal. They'd be more like an extra channel for your amp.

i just got this Behringer VT911 which i'm in love with right now, and it has a valve, but i wonder how much difference it is making in there besides the actual circuit.
i could be wrong, but i never caught on to the valve pedal hype, really.
Most tube pedals are bland, to be honest. They don't capture what an overdriven amp can sound like. They're basically just tubescreamers with preamp tubes running at 12 volts. They're no better than a JFET design.
What I have in mind is very different. They'll be more like the Faustone Valve Klipper, in that they'll have proper toroidal transformers, isolated tubes, voltage multipliers or full voltages, overspec'ed capacitors, etc. etc.

720V!!!!!! dude i am kind of tingling now with anxiety/excitement. That is some killer plate voltage
You could fry some KFC with that.
