Y'know, for some reason I've never tried this either. Gonna have to try that.

Here's my super 80s home stereo double EQ in a loop:

Seriosuly. this sounds so fucking cool. I feel like I could use this rather than a drone synth pretty effectively.
How are you constructing the feedback loop? Pedals or onboard patching or something?
Is this one of these kind of EQ's? (not this one specifically, but the style)

Yep! It probably has RCA jacks on the back, in which case you can use the RCA-to-1/4 cables, but I opened it up and pulled those jacks, replacing them with normal 1/4 sized ones to keep it simple.
I run it through an Utter Stutter or regular Chk Chk Boom-style feedback loop; input of the EQ goes into the send, output into the return.
I MADE A VIDJA:

Only the right side EQ is working because I spliced the two inputs, making it one input - L/R outputs. This was so I could play one thing into 2 amps. But since there's only one input, without some splitting wizardry you can currently only use one side in a loop.
HOKAY.
So the EQ's input -> Utter Stutter's send, EQ's output -> US's return.
US's output -> SPLITTER
Splitter side A -> Elements -> Disaster Transport Jr -> Bass amp
Splitter side B -> Modded cassette deck with tape loop -> Electribe (for filtering and effects 'n such) -> Bass amp

The cassette loop holds ~8 seconds worth of shit, and with the modded deck I can loop layer over layer. I forgot to do it in the video though...
At :33 I start recording the loop and :55 is where it starts to get played into the Electribe where it's woopty wooped and bitcrushed 'n stuff.

Thread inspired me to throw the Boss GE-7 into my feed back loop. I was surprised by the results. I think that something like 10/15-band would be a lot cooler but I was able to get some cool drone sounds out of a piece of gear I had lying about. Now to start scanning for a second hand rackmount equalizer on the CL.

I really need to get in contact with Lawrence and get my Utter Stutter and Blowing Up fixed. All this feedback loop talk has me jonesing to do some experimentation. Maybe next paycheck...

i used to have two of the relatively recent Marshall Guv'nor 2 distortions. they were great in feedback loops because they have four-band EQ knobs which allow you to set it to feed back to a particular note with pretty good precision; you could then bring that particular note for a drone when you wanted it by kicking in the feedback loop. my Truly Beautiful Disaster was great for this.

Yes. I might just do that, now that you mention it... :p

Lol. Live that guy. Seems that soundtracks from cheesy movies would work pretty well too.
