Agreed! Today's small bite: I finally lined up a LOCAL metal shop that does screen printing of epoxy enamel inks on stompbox enclosures for a nice price. So, enclosures in hand, professional printer lined up. I still have to order boards but lol money, WHERE DOES IT ALL GO

I've never tried newer Traynor stuff.
I've had a 70's Traynor YBA-1 and man did it rule. I have tried a 70's YBA-3 too, very cool as well.
I also liked their 70's 2x15's and 4x12's.

I looked into the future and saw that you put it off until the last minute, stay up all night to finish it then sleep in late missing class. Your teacher still accepts your work and you get a decent grade for the class but you never fully forgive yourself for your lack of discipline of course you don't realize the depth of this and it remains as subconscious baggage through out the rest of your life.

the YBA-300 is also cheap (1000€), the new version, an all-tube 300w bass head, but it has like... 16 valves in it, that's fucking insane, and they're 6L6's it also has external BIAS knobs, which a feature i had never seen, seems awesome.......... but this one has only four KT88's which are far cheaper to replace if shit hits the fan, and three pre-amp valves, and also seems more versatyle. both of them look awesome, though.

We spend months designing and running experiments upon participants, and I've been writing this practical report up since early February. It's due in at noon next Friday, and I only have 2/3 pages left to write. It's also worth about 30% of the degree itself as far as I remember.

Yeah, it's a Psychology degree. We're looking into interactions between the mirror neuron system (which is a component in sensorimotor action which primes actions when observing another agent executing said action) and object affordances (affordances is a concept that objects "afford" actions associated with them; i.e. a chair affords sitting, a cup affords a power grasp).

Our experiment involves participants watching stimulus of an agent reaching with a left or right reach towards an object (either a tool or a kitchen utensil) which can be oriented to be grasped with a left or right hand reach. The participants are required to codify the object (which is actually an irrelevant stimulus) by pressing either a left key for utensil or a right key for tools. This set up gives us a set of congruent and incongruent reaches, and we test which give faster reaction times, and which allow more accurate responses. We're looking for an effect called a complementary effect, which means that the participant responds in a co-operative way to the reach of the actor, that they're unaware of, and various other effects which are too complex to explain here.

Our results actually challenged previous data about how the mirror neuron system works (at least in the context of the experiments we're replicating). We demonstrated that variations in kinematics (reach trajectories) have an effect on reaches, and this is where our results differ from the main body of data - we showed competitive responses. We also deduced that when the systems are interacting, they show different effects than as stand-alones.

It's psych, but it's not "HOW DOES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL" analytical stuff that seems to be the public perception.

This is actually very interesting to me as my current plan is to take advantage of the VA's vocational rehab program and pursue some sort of psych degree. my ultimate goal is to work with soldiers suffering from ptsd. I just figure they'll be more comfortable talking to me considering I've been there/done that/got the t-shirt. I know from personal experience that its kinda awkward feeling discussing combat with someone who looks like your mom.
