is it really that simple
just a wire connecting those points

Ill get on a desktop later and copy and drop it here so no FB needed.
As for as the wires yes just the wires will give the main effect but the R13 jam is the hotness and the LED in series is righteous so I'd say play with it see if you like it all by itself but man at the very least mod/jump r13

Let's just imagine a world where modding DS-1's suddenly becomes insanely popular and the price for unmodded ones on eBay skyrockets.

I actually like my DS-1 stock, though I totally don't use it as a distortion. I just use it for added static color when there's already a shit ton of fuzz and junk going on. Might look into modding it though...

A friend of mine made me a "plexi" mod with a "hump" switch which just rules. Sounds great but more like an od than a distortion, but cranked it can get totally nuts.
