A/B/C box that doesn't A: suck or B; cost $300+?

Post by dubkitty »

i want to upgrade my looping setup by adding a Ditto to go with the E2 and the Flashback so i can use the other two more as delays than as loopers. thus i'm going to need to split the mono input into three separate switchable outputs, one for each of the 3 delay/loopers (with the 2-looper setup i've been using the EB volume/pan pedal, but it's not suitable for three-input applications and is bloody huge.. most of the 1-to-3 switches are actually A/B switches with an override for channel C; i want to be able to run the signal to any or all of A, B, and or C. the main ones that aren't A/B vs. C are the Lehle units, which i'm sure are utterly immaculate, but i can't afford $345 for a fucking A/B/C box. anybody got any suggestions? any experience with the Morley Tripler? recommendation for a small builder doing the kind of thing i need? i'm probably going to use the little 3-into-one Behringer mixer like Ryan's after the looper/delays so everything sums to a mono output. any ideas appreciated.

im sure the morley one is fine
thoughi havent tried it
they also have a tripler
that mixes and boosts each channel as well
the behr was the cheaper option
but ill be gettin the morley someday
as long as you dont say it blows

ed:i should say that if the behr would work
i think youd be happy with it
is definately worth the 20 bucks

Just to understand a little better, you want a 3 output with on/off switch for each?
Or something more complicated than that?

I never really looked into this stuff, but I think I remember hearing good stuff about Loooper. They have one for $95:

three in, one out. this is for the input to the boxes: i want to be able to route the signal to any or all three devices (two loopers and a delay that oscillates).

i'll use some little mixer for the outs, because i want to be able to crossfade the loops whether with a fader or by manipulating the vlumes on a mini-line mixer.

DeLisle Guitars makes one that does 1 in 3 out and may work in reverse but I'm not sure.
I had one and used it to run multiple amps and it worked great. The only downside is size but it could easily be rehoused.
The dude that makes them is helpful and fairly quick to respond if you have questions.

Here's a few on ebay:

Wait, I think you're saying that backwards.
Three in, one out would be the second one. Take three signals and route it to one output.
Three out, one in would be the first. Take mono input to three signals.
So I'm still confused.

you're right, i was saying it backwards. i need something that takes the input signal and splits it to Looper 1/Loop-Delay1/Loop-Delay 2. i want to be able to isolate one destination, or to pick/choose.

the DeLisle box seems perfect, and i know the guy who runs the company online.

Yeah, he post on the Gretsch forum I believe.

Like I said before, the only down side to it is the size.
I think he was worried about the switches being too close together so he used a bigger enclosure than needed.
If you don't mind the switches being closer you could easily put it in something smaller.

It does have 2 buffered outs so that may save some space, if it allows you to eliminate other pedals used to buff.

it could indeed. the big upside, though, is that i can quit using the enormous EB vol/pan pedal i currently use to pan the signal into the loopers.

David Boggs of loooper is awesome. He custom built my 2 looper boxes that I've used for 6+ years without fault. GREAT guy and super-awesome products.

Another choice is Brian of loop-master.

These guys will build you *almost* anything you want at pretty reasonable prices.
