On the topic of mixers, does anybody have any experience with the Mackie 402 VLZ3 or the Alesis MultiMix 4 USB? I need a four-input mixer with two mic/instrument channels, gain, EQ and etc, and these two are the ones that stand out the most. I don't need the USB on the Alesis at all, but it's cheaper, and I'm tight, so...

In all seriousness though, if my friend's 802 VLZ3 is anything to go by, the Mackie will probably be worth the extra cash. Just wondering if anybody's had firsthand experience. Or if anybody can suggest any alternatives that aren't Behringer (not that they make a 4-input mixer that isn't a simple line mixer anyway).

My covers band has a Mackie 1604 VLZ3 mixer in our PA and it sounds amazing. I have no experience with the Alesis, the only other mixers I've ever used are Behringer. But the Mackie does great things to the sound, it has this sweetness that the Behringer doesn't have. It's hard to describe, but I highly recommend putting out the extra coin for the Mackie.

First I've I've sat down with the pedals in a while, decided to make a noise board.
A new user here, Bleachedfan, built me a bypass/feedback looper as part of a trade (along with a green ringer). Good shit, solid build.

Feedback loop -> EHX Cathedral -> ss/bs TAFM -> Malekko 616
(In the loop: Digitech Hyperphase -> Ibanez PM7 -> ss/bs Mini -> Arion Flanger -> DOD Graphic EQ)

with the power all channels boost
knobs at 12(50%) is reg volmume
guitar channel when boosted
ends up with some decent distortion
not sure if its amp distorting
or the unit itself

I own a Sleepdrone 5 and one of my bandmates has a Sleepdrone 3. I personally prefer the 5 because of the added options (And the dedicated outs for each oscillator are nice for certain things as well), but the 3 is a solid machine as well if you're going after something simple. My only gripe is it doesn't have an actual on/off switch; if it's plugged in, it's on. Small thing though, really.

If you want something crazier there's the Trogotronic line of products. They're more for chaos infused synth than anything truly controlled though, although with enough practice you can get SOME amount of stability to them.

If you wanna go SUPER simple there's always the good old Atari Punk Console, though I've never been a huge fan of them, myself.

Oh man...That's the ONE thing I wish my Sleepdrone 5 had, is goddamn momentary buttons. You can use the oscillator on/off switches but it's a pain and not nearly as accurate. That is seriously sexy.
