it's basically just an overdub pedal, no fancy shit. i've been looking at something like that for quite a while now, i even talked to some builders about it, but nothing came up.

this is a really cool idea, i think this pedal is going on to sell like hot tarts for real. i will be getting one for sure.

Have any of you guys tried playing around with A E A G# B E. I have been on a Krallice kick and decided to retune my ibanez baritone to Colin Marston's tuning. It is pretty bad ass. I can flip around different chords, open tuning style. I replaced the higher strings with a lighter gage then normal for a baritone so they have a little bit lighter feel.

ten pages back (how the hell does this thread move so fast?!) but...

There's a possibility they'll be out later in the year. Some people are talking to some people.

FUCK YEAH! Sweet titties. Well, that's good news. dase do you know if that's going to be the two of those bands or just YOB?
Also just gave Atma a spin (finally). I was pleasantly surprised at hearing Mr. Kelly make an appearance there. That guy is great, he can show up on anyone's album and it sounds awesome. (Point in case: Spectrelight is the only good song off the new Mastodon.)
And yes, this thread moves stupid fast. For a thread about some of the slowest music on the planet. Certainly shakin down the stereotypes about stoner/doom (which I'm over).

Ah right. That makes a bit more sense then. Cheers.

ATMA is YOB's best album yet, In my opinion.
recording-wise, gear sound-wise, everything really.
Mike really gives er' on all the styles of singing he can do.
AMAZING album.

Adrift In The Ocean. Is. Just. Incredible.

I have a hard time picking a favorite YOB album at this point. They're so consistently great.

Listening to Krallice's the Clearing right now. You can sorta tell its in an open sorta tuning, its got a similar vibe to some of that Devin Townsend/SYL stuff (the use of open tunings allows you to play around with different disonances, chord augmentations, diminshments, etc.). Sounds cool as shit.

I'm looking at going down to drop A (currently in drop B), but my strings are kinda at their limit. Can anyone recommend a gauge to go to? I generally play Not Even Slinkies, but I dunno if Ernie Ball goes up from that gauge without heading into 7 string packets....brt.

Also. where do you get nut files on the cheap from?

personally haven't tried them and play bass a lot more then guitar nowadays...
but the two guitarists I jam with use these and love them. We played in Drop A for the first release, we all mutually think it's too low for the stuff we're going to be working on next. These worked/sounded great, they set up their guitars in drop A and put these on... no more weird wobbly-ness that comes with being in a low tuning.

I will admit that I can't really get into the first two YOB releases... Elaborations Of Carbon and Catharsis. The Illusion Of Motion is what made me get into them in the first place.
