Either that or you could open up with "We fucking killed our bassplayer this morning for Satan, fuck yea!"

I think that would work just fine.

Hej Vidret! Nah, we played in Västerås. I think it turned out okay, thanks to everyone here. Ended up rolling with an LS-2 to split everything, followed by a Boss HM-2, MXR 6 band eq with 100, 200 pumped, 400hz fairly pumped, 800 neutral and 1200 and 3200 zeroed. Then an old Boss CE-2B chorus to give it a bit of dynamic.

It worked pretty well, but damn, I felt awfully conscious of having to hold up the bass end of things. Cos of the aforementioned struggles in finding a synth dude I've spend half my time playing riffs and half playing more atmospheric or synthy stuff, and the lack of bass was noticeable sometimes, so I ended up playing some extra stuff following the chords instead of the regular stuff. Worked well but wow... I don't want to do it again.

Will clip together something and post it just in case anyone wants to hear the results. Wasn't great but it was better than no bassist. And it would have sucked dicks without everyone in this thread's help.

THANKS!!!!!

- edit: maybe a gig on Sthlm on the 22nd. We'll see.

Just remember: "We killed our bassplayer for Satan" as a fallback plan.

I wish I had have read your post before the gig, otherwise I would've mentioned it. And it is a total given if this happens again :D

He he!

For all non-scandinavies that's probably the only phrase you need to learn. At least if you are at an Amon Amarth concert. Synchronised windmills!!
