Fuck street cred. Carry yourself with a swagger and either no one will give a shit or they'll want to know what the hell you're using.

This is coming from a guy who uses 6 Klons cascading into each other and 15 Strymon pedals

also, no one on the streets knows what the fuck an arc effects big green pi is. only nerds on the internet. so it's more like you're risking your internet nerd cred than your street creed. so, who fucking cares about that?

I was mostly being tongue in cheek about the street cred. I was wondering how it could possibly aid me in my doom quest, but all I ever know about it is a bunch of dudes that play some cheesy blues solos use em. besides this guy in this band I haven't really seen anyone use it for anything else.

nice sounding overdrives into fuzzes to boost the fuck outta signals does wonders for doom. . . . every doomer should have at least 1 better OD just for boosting a fuzz.

edit: why do I wants a meatsmoke pre and a disgusting power amp so bad?

a cerwin vega 5000 + a meatsmoke pre amp into like 8 18s. . . . why the fuck not right? right? :animal: :picard:

Holy Schnikes wrote:Went to Chicago this weekend to hang out with the Emperor dudes and pick up my new 1x12 loaded with a 100W Axis12 (Fane clone). As always, it was tons of fun, love when it's time to go up there and grab a cab and some beers. Gonna pair it with my other 1x12 loaded with a Weber 65 to complete my Orange OR15 baby stack. This will serve as one half of my baby stereo rig.

I let 'em surprise me with the finish, gave a couple simple ground rules on what I wasn't looking for, that's about it. Turned out incredible, a classy 3-tone burst from light walnut to auburn to chocolate brown with salt n' pepper grill cloth. Nice walnut accent on the face as well. Was pretty floored when I first laid eyes on it, gorgeous!

I'll get a chance to let it rip tomorrow at the jam spot, excited!

My Ampeg GVT15H plus Emperor vert 2x12 loaded with Legacy 100s makes up the other half of the baby stereo rig. They compliment each other so well, the Orange being mean as fuck with tons of gain and minimal clean headroom (plenty of clean-ish headroom tho :thumb:). The Ampeg being the polar opposite, cleans for days. I can dime the gain and master and it's still pretty much all clean when running those two 100W speakers, spectacular pedal amp!

Super snazzy as always :animal:

When you run both amps do you run your board just into the Ampeg? What sorts of dirt are you running into the Ampeg to pair with the OR15? I've been boosting my Blackstar and running my fuzzes into the Ampeg, but I really feel like I want/need a distortion pedal (or several) to put through the Ampeg for dem chugz.

I can definitely get on board with this.

Supposed to be a great boost for just about anything. Plus you might actually gain some internetz cred for having a clone instead of the real thing. You know, anti-establishment and all that...

I just got access to some rack toms. I'd like to use them in my new band to do some dual percussion with the drummer. Now I just gotta work it out without sounding like Neurosis or Slipknot.

Like Red Fang, I don't care for this band at all unless I'm watching the video.

This metaphor over-extended itself.
