Yeah that looks cool. Love those soft touch switches, not sure I like how the switches have 'none' in the middle though, it just seems wrong to me. Minor complaint to be sure, the main thing is the sound, which I'm sure will be good based on other Empress pedz. Keeping an eye on this, because tapey-ness is what I like about the DT Jr, but sometimes I do feel like tap tempo and modulation would be nice.
Isn't it a lil late for a El Capistan competitor though? I mean it's nice to have options, but I'd much rather have adjustable knobs then toggle switches, onboard reverb, and the ability to store a preset if i so desire.....

to be realistic though... i will probably just keep my Faux Tape Echo, because i haven't heard anything that could do such lush dark walls of echo if dialed right...
Astro, to be honest from what i've gathered, i don't consider El Cap to be really ideal with the hidden features, it's more tweakable though
It does sound good, atleast on par with the EC if not a lil more analog actually. I never found the hidden features on the el cap hard to use, but it's definitely not for on stage in between song adjustments. This one seems more straightforward, albeit a lil less tweakable. Definitely sounds good for what it is on the demo, just doesn't seem to be something totally new to me.

the demo sounds nice.. i don't mean to be a wet blanket but i kinda feel meh about this i also hate when they put the power jack right above sidemounted input/output jacks... probably alone in that department but it just seems in the way.

It's a bit cheaper, but I guess you're right. Both of those cost more than I think I can bear paying for a single delay though (timeline and stuff get exceptions maybe), so whatever. Sounds good enough that I'll keep a look out for a decent used price, but the same is true for the el cap...
^and yeah I can't say I'm excited about it. Looks pretty nice though.
To be honest - El Cap is definitely unique in some things... if i were to invest in my delay and if i were supposed to choose between those two, i would not know what to choose...
El Cap would attract me because it has multihead and reverb Empress on the other hand is cheaper and i like the choices between the tape age for example - it would make it easier for me than tweaking it. and i like the sounds as well, of course
I'm not sure about that thing. It's exactly the same thing as the Tape part of the SDVM... nothing new. I like my superdelay, but I feel like it could have been improved to compete with the TimeLine.
