Are you implying you are working for him?D-Day wrote: I'm no expert but I'd guess that you need the proper wattage to deliver clean headroom at the volumes you wish to play the thing. Get a 100 or 135. Very clean, very reliable and as Nick mentioned very easily teched.
BTW, I was over at Verellen the other day and was treated to some sneak peeks! Anybody with facebook has probably seen the rack mount double Meatsmoke pre but there's some pretty fun stuff coming from that dude. He also has a full time employee these days who's really cool and has some great ideas of his own that may come to fuition with a big V stamped on 'em.

Great. I'm glad to finally see Verellen appreciated on a wider scale. It's taken them a while to be fully noticed.D-Day wrote:I'm no expert but I'd guess that you need the proper wattage to deliver clean headroom at the volumes you wish to play the thing. Will have to check when I get home. Also I have a Fender as is. Not easy to get clean. Need to get a lower gain pre amp tube in v1 to help me with this I think.

Definitely post OT, then, if I do decide upon a slave out.new05002 wrote:pre-phase will not have phase inverter and power tube and OT contribution to tone while post OT has all of that. I usually recommend Post OT

its as easy as adding 1 output jack to the amp which is the OT signal divided down a bit. no sweat to include it, doesnt change the tone of the amp one bit

I'll have to read the rest of this stuff later tonight...but for now...
SKIP...That's awesome news...those ingrown hairs can get painful and ugly fast, having ape-like characteristics myself, i have had my fair share of ingrown hair issues. Yes, they are gross, but usually quite harmless.

DUDE I'm so glad that's all it is. They are gross, but like you said, it's a lot better than the alternative!Ancient Astronaught wrote:Guh, haven't been on in a few days.... too tired to go back and read.....![]()
So yeah.... my VB-2 died mid set on Saturday... Blew the infamous internal fuse, and probably took a power tube with itThe good news is I get to use the Naki for our big show this Friday!

Also found out my back might not be as bad as I thought, turns out its most likely just a really badly infected ingrown hair![]()

Doc said that due to all the swelling and its location it was putting pressure on my spinal cord causing the cyst like symptoms and all the muscle pain. It sounds pretty stupid and disgusting, but its alot better then a cyst that has to be removed surgically!

HA! Nick you rule my friend! No I am not implying that at all. The dude's name is Derrick (sp?) and he's been there for a like a year. I had originally just assumed he was another intern that wouldn't be around forever. My dear dear friend Russ (guitar player of Sleep Capsule) did just land the deal to tolex all Verllen products that need tolexing. It was fun watching him do the first Verellen 8x10 at Soldano (his usual place of empoyment). Because Soldano does not offer an 8x10 so he's not really set up for that and had to climb up on the table and shit. Good times in Seatown!

I've got myself all hot and bothered, so I'm going to have a look at knobs (geddit!?) and other things for my amp.
I had a panic moment in my feverish state a couple of days ago. I suddenly thought, 'what if I don't like it'? Then I remembered how awesome it's going to be and laughed.

Alex - if you can get a tech to look at it then it may be worth it. Otherwise there has been a v2 on guitar center used for quite some time (don't know if it's still there) and it was like $400-450, so you may want to check there.

well u do have some time, Bretts is still on the bench without much yet done. Still. Remember larger knobs = more space.AngryGoldfish wrote:Sweet, let's do it!new05002 wrote:its as easy as adding 1 output jack to the amp which is the OT signal divided down a bit. no sweat to include it, doesnt change the tone of the amp one bit

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I didn't really see much info on this 'Acid Age' thing that was mentioned in the Earthbound blog. Anybody know anything? Is it just a name change?
Speaking of which I am now pretty sure that I will not be calling my venture Black Hand Analog. Too many 'Blacks' out there and not enough quality. Plus I don't want my stuff to get instantly profiled because the brand name is all 'doomy' and suchlike. I have no intention of changing my personal style outside of the usual growth one experiences in life and I will certainly not forsake my friends. But I think a more open ended name would be good.
And speaking of my venture, I finally pulled the trigger. One hundred powder coated Hammond 1590N1's are coming way. I think I annoyed Ben V's metal guy with all my questions and that's okay because I found a sheet metal fab shop up in Woodinville that prints nothing but metal products and uses various enamels including epoxy. I'm getting ever closer!

I refuse to buy used from GC. I have had two amps shit the bed from GCs used section. Plus in the last 8 months I know and have heard of a few people buying/trying amp that were dead already or died shortly there after.

I don't understand why he is switching up the name/company. It seems a bit riduclous to me but I also don't know why he is doing it.

Yeah I don't like the fit 'n finish of the Chinese boxes. I was going to get them ground into shape but dude quoted me a bill that would have had me $26 into each enclosure by the time all was said and done with the grinding, powder, printing etc. That was where the debate started that led to him not answering my emails anymore.
