Are you using the built in samples or your own? I think the ones that come with it sound like shit. It is a neat app but the factory sound bank could be improved, IMHO.
I was kinda impressed at the number of sounds. I'm not going for acoustic drum kit sound so it works to just use drum machine 606, 808, etc samples. Think like STRFKR Reptilians acoustic-guitar-and-drum-machine-beats*. Shit is cash. (* With my fuzzy lead guitar all over the top of that.)

So, I just found a Zoom SB-246 for $60. Dude is holding it for me until tomorrow. It's sounds are by BeatKangz (like I give a fuck really) but some of them are pretty good. You can make custom kits from the different kits, add little bass or synth parts/hits. Song programming capability or groovebox feature. With the groovebox I can control what pattern it is on with a footswitch. I found that to be a cool idea. So it was a no brainer for $60.
Cool! I would need something with a footswitch. Now I have to see if I have the spare money from tax returns after I put together a couple guitars.....
So, I just picked up the Zoom SB-246 and holy shit!!!...the best $60 I have ever spent. I know I got a steal on it. But yeah, I played it through my practice amp and this thing hits so hard, it has a ton of punch. Not every sound is great but there are a lot of great/usable sounds. It is easy to bang out and build up a beat, you don't grid program them or anything. You can change time signatures, change the quantize, it has swing. The 12 pads are somewhat velocity sensitive. It has 23 bass/synth sounds that you can play in 3 registers (low medium high). I mean some of these are decent (come on $60), they could fill out a beat. I haven't explored the footswitch option yet, I am hoping a 3 button TRS footswitch could work for up, down, on/off. It is crazy, this box has midi in, so there is a ton of programability (that I probably won't use unless I try to sequence it).
