Mine came in today. I got the big box version(i saw she made small box ones too). Not that it matters too much but that blue LED is blinding! I played with it for about two hours. The "darkness" knob doesn't do much at all before 3 o'clock on its own. With the krackle is where it's function comes in. Krackle is just that, crackle. Both together is great, i can hear each function separately but in unison, if you know what i mean. They dont grind into each other unless both are turned all the way up. With my guitar it doesn't sound like devi's demo. I'm still working with it, I really like it so far and I'm already hearing where I can use it in my setup. Stacked on top of my Hyperion it creates looooong sustain and feedback. A lot of fun. Ill have to play with it more. It's a $50 fuzz, what's to complain about? Ill do a shitty iPhone camera demo when I get to know it better if you guys want?

For what it's worth, I'll watch it if you make it.

Yeah I got the e-mail at 3 a.m. my time, so about 6 a.m. On a Sunday morning. I guess I could've been awake partying hard still. Instead I played Final Fantasy 8 until I started falling asleep at the controller. Whoops.

Maybe tomorrow.

Those are it for about a week according to the email/FB, but never know.

I certainly didn't need it but the graphic/pricepoint and the fact I've wanted a Torn's Peaker (or variant) for a while sort of said, "Screw it, order now."

Torn's Peaker is a cool pedal, but god damn it's noisy. I'd get one of these if I had the scratch.

I'm in the same boat. I don't need it, but it is alluring. My soda meiser needs some company. And who doesn't like more fuzz.

I've gotten to play with it for a couple hours (would have liked more but that pesky occasional server crash gets in the way).

Comes complete with "Thanks for buying" flyer, sticker, the usual Devi stuff (tarot card, instructions for same, which if I needed at this point in my career of evil we'd all be in trouble), etc. Pictured with Mustang #2, since my graphic for it came in today too and I was picture-lazy and did both at once.

Image

The quick bullet point:

The good:
- For a dual fuzz array, almost no noise to fear. For any dirt pedal, almost no noise to fear. The thing is damn quiet even with single coils. I'm impressed, yet it still sputters and spits if set right.
- Most controllable of all the Devi stuff I've played (I don't touch the low-gain pedals). Tons of musically useful stuff here, if you're into that sort of thing.
- Plays well with others. Likes an OD in front of it for extra push (at which point it's stupid easy to dial in instarockgod toanzes). It plus oscillating fuzz after: an hour of fun the first time you step on them, at least.
- Not hearing the $50 price drop over normal Devi pedals in the sound. It sounds good, pure and simple.

The bad:
- No battery clip (unless I've gone blind). Then again, it *is* a $50 pedal. And I have plenty of adapters and room left on my chain.
- Not quite as much insane volume boost on tap as other Devi pedals (which isn't a bad for me since I can already do that with one of a dozen other things in the chain). Still plenty there but not quite the usual "fuck me, I'll never use 3/4 of it."
- Most controllable of all the Devi stuff I've played. This will not take you into shortwave slamming space noises by itself.
- Have to clear off space on the board to stick it on to see if it wants to live there full-time.

Would definitely buy again, not intending to flip this one (and I haven't flipped a pedal in a long time).

The Devi demo is pretty accurate, results will vary with individual guitar and amp of course. Sputtering, wacky decay can be had if set properly, and it can get bright but not "I should have slashed the tweeter on this to save my soul" so.

Obligatory sound clips,

Three tracks, Jaguar into DFTN > Space Echo > HRD, DFTN solo > HRD, Daddyo OD > DFTN > Jazz Chorus

[soundcloud]http://soundcloud.com/rfurtkamp/somewhere-nowhere[/soundcloud]

Two tracks of evil, Mustang into DFTN > Disaster Fuzz and Test Pattern, respectively

Yeah that guitar is sick! Nice demos, from yours and Devi's I'd love this if the shipping to me wasn't the same price as the pedal itself...
