Re: Mr Black Double Chorus
Got my Double Chorus today, had a chance to test it out and I am really liking it so far. It's a really organic sounding pedal, none of that sterile sounding 80's chorus vibe going on, it adds depth to basslines and fattens up a distorted tone. I'll be snowed in all weekend, so I'll try to get a bass demo up by Sunday.

Only got about 30 minutes with it last night but it's really, really cool. The instruction sheet tells you to start off with all knobs at noon and strum a chord, damn, it sounds nice.
I'm not TOTALLY sure it has a place on my board, but it sure sounds purdy.

I am actually surprised at how subtle i can make the effect. I love that. It adds smoothness and creamyness to fill out the sound but doesn't punch you in the face with cheesy hair meetal sounds.

I'll take two please.
also chorus owns on it's own for bringing out harmonics, and with fuzz for making the best sounds

Played with it a little last night, and a lot tonight. Digging it, a lot. Finding many usable settings. The through-zero thing is so cool, I'm not sure I have a practical use for it, but we'll see!
Good deals on ILF: too many to list, just ask!

I was bored sitting inside during a blizzard, so I put together a demo of some of what the Double Chorus is capable of. Be kind, this is my first bass demo so some of the video effects are cheesy and the playing is janky at times. Enjoy!

P.S. Thanks Eric!

I thought I might have been able to get by without it.

I think it sounds great.
(Not great enough to make me wanna use chorus, but great enough that I can now appreciate it when others use it.)

Re: Mr Black Double Chorus (Demo on pg 3)
Thanks for the love on the demo. I tried to show a few different flavors of the pedal. In general, I'm not a fan of fast "seasick" modulation but it sounded pretty good with Hall of the Mountain King/Adventures of Sonic so I figured I'd throw that in at the end.

It sounds great but it doesn't work well with my active bass
It easily gets overdriven even with volume knob rolled off. Such a shame, I definitely could use it.

Wow!
How hot a signal is your bass putting out? The DoubleChorus will handle a 3V peak-to-peak signal with ease, which makes me wonder how large the signal coming out of the bass is.
I prefer to run mine in the effects loop, or after distortion, but I don't think either positions receive a signal >3V pk-to-pk. That's BIG.

I have MusiC Man Bongo 5 with 18v preamp. I tried putting DC in different placec of the chain and it didn't help. I can make a video that shows what's happening, maybe I'm doing something wrong

Re: Mr Black Double Chorus (Demo on pg 3)
You don't need to make a video.
I think the active pickups in that instrument kick out a LOT of signal.
Does it drive your amp into clipping easily? Other pedals? Do you use the -15dB pad on your amp, if equipped?
I bet you, you're pushing 3 - 5 V out of it (maybe more), which is HUGE and will cause your DoubleChorus to clip.

Re: Mr Black Double Chorus (Demo on pg 3)
I play through Rusty Box and I have to keep gain on about 9 o'clock to not overdrive it. I usually don't have troubles with pedals and never had anything like this with my modulations. Is there are any way to mod Double Chorus for my needs?
