Hi Ryan,
Just FYI, I received the Prymaxe Vintage newsletter on email and there's a link on the CC v3 and noticed errors that you may want to notify to Prymaxe. On the email, it's $275 then when you click the link it's $325. Then the write up on it is from the old versions.

&-e wrote:Wow. This is easily the most versatile and full-featured chorus I've ever had, and I've tried a bunch of them! Finally chorus (and vibrato) sounds can be dialed in exactly the way I like it. The tones in this little box are outstanding. It's quickly becoming my favorite. Having both output level and blend is so much better than without; don't think I could go without them now. The hold mode is a lot of fun esp. w/ vibrato. I love how because of the mix control it can do pure pitch vibrato or add a sliver of 2nd voicing to juice it, and still be able to keep the output level in check. At first I had the treble dimed for maximum clarity, but then rolling it back and using the mix control again, it's pretty amazing how easily it gets into CE-1 territory and beyond.

Problem is, there's several settings I like a LOT-- slow, dark, & gooey; warbling, pure (or slightly chorused) vibrato; fat slippery leads; Honeyman-Scott chime. For now, at home & practice, it's all cool, I can just dial them in, but if live shows happen again I may need a second one. I always used to favor chorus pedals that had a toggle for two different rate/depth settings (CE-1, Retro-Sonic Chorus, Analogman Bi-Clone), but with the amount of custom tailoring available on the Cosmichorus, I might eventually opt for a second (this one is the Home Sweet Home finish, maybe score the Zombichorus for contrast?) beacuse it's one of those weird things where I didn't realize I wanted that level of customization until getting it, and how that I have it, I'd rather have two of the same pedal to get that control rather than compromise with a simpler 2-in-1 pedal. Some people probably feel the same for OD/dirt/fuzz, better to be able to dial in precisely the dirt on two individual pedals than use a simpler OD + boost combo pedal.

I read that a lot of time was taken in getting this thing just right; it shows! Very very happy camper.

Sorry I'm so late replying to this and thank you very much for the thoughtful review! I'm really happy you're liking it so much, it really makes my day and I really appreciate it. Thanks again!

Clean Channel wrote:Well said &-e, I agree start to finish!

-easily the best sounding (and I can't say it enough, it sounds really, really good), most versatile chorus I've ever used
-spot on when you say you can dial in CE-1 tones with the tone knob. I'm simply amazed how I can dial in every chorus I've ever used on the Cosmichorus v3
-I never even imagined how useful the output level/mix knobs would be when used together like that; a really clever and important innovation!
-live, if you're using a lot of different chorus/vibrato tones, I could totally see the advantage of having two (although I'll probably just stick to bending and twisting for the time being)

Thanks again, Tim, love reading this! *big smile*

Just got one of these in trade and I LOVE it!!! The Hold feature is amazing Ryan!! One question though. Can you use the Hold feature with an expression pedal?

That Prymaxe demo is killer, Mike really nailed it! I really like his demo style and thorough-ness and musical genre-ability.

Adam, the hold feature can only work with a momentary connection, it has to either touch ground or not to work. So if you had an expression pedal that grounded at one end, like a volume pedal, then you could have it be the connection to ground to engage the circuit, but it would still only be an off or on connection and it would be a total re-wire to do that and the v3 is not mod-able in that way.

thanks. that seems like a great deal for this pedal, and the zombie finish is the one for me, but i can't buy anything like that for at least a month or two unfortunately. money's tight.

I have both of these in my possession, thought I'd snap a pic since you don't often get to see them side by side.

The v.2 isn't mine, it belongs to Fuzzy Pickles who's been kind enough to lend it to me since last fall.
