I can't believe after this many years I'm still hearing little nuances I've never noticed before.

Everyone goes through that phase.

one of the coolest things about alot of the songs on SD is how there are so many little guitar leads that come in and out. that must have been a pain in the ass to make that record

I'm also relatively sure there's a phaser on the second guitar (the lead) on the clean intro to Mayonnaise. At least it always sounded like it to me.

Didn't they put a ton of stuff through a special phaser they mentioned in "Viewphoria"?

Speaking of Cherub Rock I've been playing it a lot lately with noise nofi->Rocket. It does a wonderful job of capturing the song's vibe with one guitar.

there are some youtube videos of them playing at pinkpop(or pukelpop(sp?)?) where they play cherub rock and rocket and you can hear the phaser pretty clearly on the intros.

Do you mean Pukkelpop in Belgium?

I went there this year and My Bloody Valentine + Dinosaur Jr played.

I missed both of them.
You just need a passive bass, a tube amp, and a metric ton of marijuana and Sabbath worship.
