It's a Skullservant-built clone, using NOS geranium bits (YES, I HAVE FLOWERS IN MY PEDULZ. DEAL WITH IT.) and SOZOs! Now, I've heard that these things typically suck low end on bass, but it sounded STUPENDOUS on my "neutral amp sim" through my compy speakers. I hope to try it through the full rig later this weekend, but typically the sim is pretty accurate, and sometimes it's even a little conservative in the bass response department.
On the whole, it's pretty awesome. The three way switch in the middle seems to control diode selection - I'm guessing that left is one diode, middle is no diodes, and right is two diodes. Volume-wise, middle is loudest, left is a little quieter, and right is a little quieter still. But even so, I'm thinking this will be PLENTY LOUD. I think my favorite selection might be one diode, but I was really impressed by how much clarity I got in all settings. And I'm not normally one to harp on "transparency" and all that baloney when it comes to fuzz, but it really is amazing how much of my basses character was retained, even on the highest gain settings.
Apparently, this was just going to be a project build for him, so the enclosure is pretty utilitarian. I might get it tricked out by one of our resident etching masters, or even just have a go at it with a Sharpie. Either way, it's simplicity belies some MAAAAAAAAAASIVE TOANZ inside!
Need to get myself building again, it's so much fun!
