So Moog Murf Vs koma elektronik ft201??
Both are similar and the prices aren't "that" far apart... but has any one tried both?

Haven't tried both, but have had a MuRF for a few years, and I'd say they're actually pretty different. The Koma is kind of a Seek Wah on steroids right? It's a really great filter with a really great step sequencer with hella controls and flexibility.
But the MuRF is more of a fixed filter situation which gives you access to slices of the full filter bandwidth at each step with enveloping and overall amplitude for each step (unlike the Koma which gives you cutoff frequency adjustments for each step.)

I think i like the Koma better...i'm not enthused with the idea of having to use a laptop to access the special features on the MURF. i've got to wonder whether the KOMA sensor would work worth jack diddly under stage lighting, though.

Duder, the Koma is Not light based (Photo eye), it actally measures distances with radio waves. Never had issues with the Controller yet.

Pretty much agree. I was underwhelmed by the Murf.

Yeah I was underwhelmed by the Murf as well. It was the first one I got rid of with my first wave of Moogerfoogers

i did not know that. that's a much cooler and more adaptable thing than the photo-sensor.

yeah... for me it's that percolating sound... it's cool but every demo of it I hear sounds like

now it could be that most/all the demo-ers just don't know how to set it.. like the freq box...
but it is a pricy pedal to get unless it does more then "that" sound... vs the Koma which at least in the demos does other sounds...

I will say that when you crank the level of the Murf it has the BEST bass overdrive sound

The only thing that makes me pause on the Koma is the midi thing.... I like the idea of linking it to the moog delay and the clocks on synths really easy.... the sensor thing... not sure ATM how much I'd use... I've had a peep for ever and used it like twice...

Why? It sounded great? I just find step filters to be fun but not very musical
