Samick Les Pauls?

Post by t-rey »

There is Samick LP on my craigslist for ultra cheap. Just the body and neck - no electronics. Has the 'correct' headstock and body shape. Looks like the neck/headstock are bound but the body isn't - it's a bolt on.

Just trying to decide if it would be worth picking it up as a project. Anybody know what sort of wood it would be made of? Or how much it would cost to have binding put on the body (just the front) to make a pseudo Les Paul Custom?

Memories!!!

My first guitar was a black samick les paul with a bolt on neck! Mine had a hollow carved top stuck on some kind of "wood" body.
The pickups were pretty bad too.

It would cost more to get bound than its worth. Post some pix if you hit it

Some kind of 'wood' huh? Sounds like I'll probably pass if that's the case with these...

Eek. Sounds like the build style of the Kay Effector I had as my first electric. Total piece of junk. Korean made Les Paul wanna be with weird effects that stopped working as soon as I got it home.

The quality of cheap beginner guitars has massively increased in the last decade. Which is great!
