uh hm2 is, I believe fly? and hm3 is surf I think, not sure though, it's been a few years

Some people on the internetz claim they're pretty much the same. BUT when I watch Kayzer's demos, it sounds like the 2 is more crunchy/mids whereas the 3 sounds more scooped/gainier. :idk:

If this is about Boss pedals, they're both great for low gain, while the HM3 is actually useful for higher gain applications as well.

I'm totally confused now. I have no idea what 3/4s of the posts are referring to.

As to the title, I was assuming this is about the Boss heavy metal pedals.

The HM2 is more of a grindy fuzzy distortion, and the HM3 is a little more scooped and compressed and "METULZ". The HM-2 is superior in my experience, unless you want to do a lot of chugga chugga stuff.
