Yeah even if there weren't all the health problems I still wouldn't smoke just based on the cost. I use all the money I save not smoking and buy pedals with it! :joy:

But 90 +% of the cost is taxes to pay for essential crap the government (both state and fed) think you really, really need. Like pay raises for representatives and fact finding trips to Bangkok and Paris. Must study sex and fashions for my constituents.

I'm sure people have stopped or not started because of the prohibitive cost...

When I started, cigs were about .75 cents. When I stopped, they were close to $2. now they're like $5. Jinkies! That's a lot to flush. Granted, tonight I'm drinking beer that costs $15 for a 4-pack. I'm banking on the beer being good for my health. :thumb:

In spains 20 cigs are about 3€ (4.26USD) .... wait.. what??? 15$ 4beers???? :eek:

Here, 1l. of beer is 1€ (1.42$)!!! beers usually come in 6packs and they are about 2-3€. If you don't mind the brand, you can get a 6pack for 1.50€ !

Over here the cheepest (good) beer I've found is some sort of German beer. It's 79cents for 0.5l.
Cigs are all around 5€.
