hahaha I know right, just one thing to remember HCFX= 50 posts per page, ILF= 20 posts per page. So its not quite as intimidating as it used to be to get caught up.

I got my copy of Pro Tools today in the mail! Now I just need to have Avid verify my serial number and I will be good to go. Just needed to share with someone who would understand my excitement.

Yeah, 10. And I just got my serial number verification back. Pretty quick turn around, I was expecting to have to wait for a few days. Well, I guess here begins my official collection of gear for being an audio engineer. Although I already had Logic so I guess it started a few years ago. But it still feels good to have what a lot of studios use.

Very nice, we've been using that for a few months now and as long as you have enough processor and RAM it runs great. They made alot of improvements (that most other DAW's made years ago  ) and its much more stable from what we've noticed.

Sorry, added to the post as you were writing yours it seems. I have been using 10 to learn on at school and have enjoyed using it so far. I just got paid out for all the sick days I didn't use so I decided to spring for the academic version and save the rest. It also is happening at a great time because my band is moving into a new practice space which we will share with another band instead of just getting a limited amount of time in. This way we will have more time and can spread out a bit more. This will allow us to keep some rudimentary mics set up so we can record practices a little bit better then what we can do now.

hahaha its all good boss. That's awesome that your school has ten, when i was going we were stuck with 8. Glad to hear about the practice space and ability to record!!! Hopefully this means you can post up some demo's soon!

We actually have two new songs that we have been playing as part of our set that are pretty much ready to go for recording. We also have another two that we have jammed on a few times that we need to settle down and hammer out. One of them is kinda mogwai like and the other is much heavier with the other guitarist tuning down to B on his les paul instead of staying in D as he normally does. Hopefully that song signifies the new direction we will be taking now that we have a line up that seems pretty settled.

My school is pretty cool with what they have available. They actually just got Kontact complete because one of the teachers set it up as he is a sound designer for Native Instruments. It is crazy big and comes on its own harddrive because it is so much. Now I just need to figure out how to get my hands on one. They also just put in a new board in their main studio back in October/November. It is a Euphonics System 5 if I remember right. I will be getting to work on it over the next few months as part of my final recording project. I might actually be able to sneak my band in there too with one of the teachers for his "learning" sessions with the board. One of the teachers said that the A/D converters/preamps are actually pretty steller and are kinda neeve like in their sound. Pretty cool for a digital set up.
