The Movie Thread
Well I noticed that I don't have many movies. So I thought making a thread about movies would be a good way to find some to watch. And for everyone to discuss movies, and recommend movies to people who they think might enjoy them.
I guess I'll start off by listing some of my favorites.
All of Tarantino's work except Death Proof
The Beyond and Zombi
Suspiria
Most of Romero's stuff except the newest Zombie Diaries because I haven't seen it
The Goodfellas
Casino
Raging Bull
All of John Hughes Brat Pack movies
Dead Alive
Star Wars (The original trilogy)
Just about any Godzilla except the American abomination from 1998
Bad Boys (the one with sean penn)
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Dazed and Confused.

You just need a passive bass, a tube amp, and a metric ton of marijuana and Sabbath worship.

Re: The Movie Thread
All of David Lynch's work, especially Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive
Fight Club
Memento
The Way of the Gun
and for those that like history, check out "Conspiracy", an HBO movie from a few years back. It's an english version of the Wannsee Conference (nazis, final solution, that stuff). Kenneth Branaugh, Colin Firth, Stanley Tucci. Fantastic.

Apocolypse Now
Breathless (I'm a hopeless romantic...but it's a great French New Wave film...very sexy)
Trainspotting
Koyaanisqatsi and/or Baraka (blow your mind narrative of the earth with stunning shots)
Deadman (great Johnny Depp black & white cowboy and indian flick)
Definitely need some Kubrick in there. (2001 is my personal favorite)

You missed most of the movie. The beginning is all build up. Probably the slowest paced of any of his movies, but the ending more than makes up for it. It's pure action for the last half.
Did they ever release the theatrical version of Grindhouse?
I was pissed off when they split the dvd and even more pissed when I found out they were missing half the stuff that made it "grindhouse" (missing scenes, fake trailers etc.)
btw thoughts on IB from any QT fans (or haters)?
There are some that call me...morningstaru?

Re: The Movie Thread
I actually think Jackie Brown is his slowest work, but no one ever talks about that one.

Everyone I know who saw IB loved it. I'm going to see it tomorrow.
Grindhouse in the theaters was just amazing. Planet Terror was FAR superior to Death Proof though. Those previews were amazingly funny, and I heard a rumor that Mr. Rodriguez is making a Machete movie!!!! I thought Death Proof was alright but definitely one of QT's lesser works. Maybe I just thought it was bad in comparison to Planet Terror, I mean come on! Q-tin ranting while his balls are falling off with a jazzy "Too Drunk To Fuck" cover in background, that's just cinematic perfection
