Spring Theory vs. Mini RRR

I had purchased the spring theory and the context at the same time. Needless to say, the spring theory was returned. It is a great plug and play pedal. I actually really liked the room setting of the ST. I wasnt as hot for the spring side. The context just gave me a lot more versitility and I think the noise floor is a bit lower.

I think the main question is do you need long tails or if so get the st if not get the rrr. I love the rrr but have a eventide space for when I need a bit more.

Spring Theory has Spring and Room reverbs.

RRR has Hall and Room and Plate reverbs (also a Rotary Sim and a clean boost).

Both are good; it depends on your needs/tastes.

Hey dude. I've had both and I would choose the spring over the rrr.
The spring side sounds really good and just did what a springy reverb is good at and I kept it there most of the time. I didn't really jive with the room side though. At higher ambienty decayz, it got really real muddy, you had to be like real sparse with it to sound pretty. But the spring side with the decay up had this awesome ringy, reverby, delay-y thing going on that was real cool and sounded perfect at lower decays

The rrr... Everyone loves it and I couldn't really get into it. The vintage plate, dark hall, and the rooms were awesome. But all the other modes seemed top tinny to me. Maybe that's me or my amp or something but I just couldn't get into those. One of the rooms was real short decay-wise and had this really cool live sound to it but the other two just sounded like short halls or something. And all the reverbs sounded pretty similar, just eq'd differently or something like that. But those three were just right. But I wanted a little more decay time and a little more toney options.

Anyway, now I have the solid gold surf and it's great! Although I have thought about the spring theory again before. overall, I would go spring theory. But I like the spring reverbs more. Up to you! Just my cents on the subject

Damn you guys, now I want a Spring Theory.

I really love my RRR, but I also like using the spring reverb on my amp. But lately my amp reverb has been getting really noisy at higher levels, even a bit of feedback if it's cranked. I suspect that will not be cheap to fix (it's a 70's Ampeg VT-40), so I'm thinking I should just get a second reverb pedal. I've been wanting a Red Panda Context, but maybe I should just get a simpler spring reverb style pedal as a complement to my RRR.
