IT made it!!!!!!!! Hooked it up and ran it through practice yesterday and it sounds great, cuts through like a champ witht he tone control on. But 2 things of note, it will not work on a 9v supply if a battery is inside of it, and the caps are different than my first one (Achtane's). mine has blue and black caps (pic below), while if i remember correctly his has orange caps. But i did notice that the soldering on mine is alot cleaner and neater than the previous two i owned, and the wooden sides line up alot better. Very happy I went with a new one.

Sweet. Glad the craft seems to be a lot better on the inside. I can tell even just from that little peak that it's a great improvement. I think the one that I had had blue and black caps too, mine was #66 I believe?

The finish looks better too, awesome!
Achtane's was right around #60 as well, mine is #205. I might be wrong about his having orange caps, but i remember everything inside of one of the ones i had before was all orange including the wiring. Yeah all around hes made some subtle but great improvements to it, luckily the sonic imprint is still the same awesome sauce that it is.

Fuck yeah. The sides do look better than the ones I had. Nah mine (#64, WE ALMOST HAD SPIDER TWINS) has the blue and black caps, but all the wiring is orange and yellow. It is a little "hmm..." looking given the size of the box but I'm confident about the integrity of it. It's still nowhere near like...DBA sketchy. Mine always pops when I turn it on, though that might be because I'm running it as part of a Onespot chain.

Maybe i remembered wrong Yeah the wiring was no where near DBA sketchy, but i def think that the soldering on my new one far surpasses that of yours. (no offense) But from what i understand after the first batch of 20 or so Big Spiders, Ben sublet'ed the work to someone else so he could focus on amps, maybe he's gone back to doing all the work himself or got a new guy. Either way i'm happy
Yeah what is up with popping pedals when you turn them on? I've noticed some issues with certain pedals in certain circumstances doing it, but the same pedal in a different circumstance not doing it.

Wondering if anyone has the meat smoke pre? How are you using it? With what set up? Power amps? Effect send? Though the front? I ordered one and will be using it for guitar and bass in two separate bands, two separate set ups. I'm going to try it though the front on both rigs but I'm also looking at buying a power amp, mostly for guitar. The marshall mono blocs, el34 and the 9100. Mesa 2 90 and vht/fryette 2 90 are on my short list. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks.
I've used my MeatSmoke pre in front of a few amps set clean, and it sounds great, but my favorite sound is running it into the power amp in of a Sunn Beta Lead into a Fender 1x15. I'm running a Tele, an ECG, and a 4003. It takes all of them well, while still retaining the original sound of each...even at full gain!
