I'm playing guitar in a stoner/psychedelic rock band and I've been looking for a Sunn Model T alternative for live shows.I live in a very small student appartment so having a head + a huge cab isn't possible... Plus, they're very pricey (at least for the original from the 70's) and hard to find...
SO, I was wondering if there was a pedal that could get me close to this sound ? I play thru a Fender.
I've been looking at the Verellen Meatsmoke which sounds like it good be a great alternative (but pricey as well).

there is no pedal which emulates the physical feel of a big amp like that. Its not a super gainy amp in general, being mostly a Superbass in design with 6550s in UL. The kind of sounds people are used to hearing from them are with heavy pedal gain on top of them
If it's the Sunn (the band) or Earth 2 droney sound you're going for I'd recommend a big heavy fuzz, like a Meathead. Both the BAT Ritual and EQD Dirt Transmitter work well for this when hitting a preamp hard for me.

Hey man, nice to see you around! HCFX tech difficulties too much to handle lately?
I casually browsed here from time to time and with the troubles at HCFX I decided why not reg? It was about time. I like the feel of this community. A lot of friendly, like-minded individuals.
Also fuzz. I realized I needed yet another place to ramp up my GAS. So far today I only want a SS/BS Mini and an Algal Bloom with the Mucha finish (my GOD).

Welcome, it really is a great group of peeps around these parts.
Also, that fuzz GAS you listed is totally legit. YOU NEED ALL THAT SHIT!

What?!! I need that.
The same company that does the beta bass preamp, 'correct sound', makes a concert lead preamp (the eclipse) and they make the concert lead coupled with a muff called the madhatter. Bit expensive though

i may as well make my first post here right now as well. nice to see you around, dude. hc kinda sucks anyway and i've been lurking here forever. may as well abandon that place. anyway, model t in a pedal? get a loud ass tube amp and put a pharaoh in front of it and you can dial in most of what you hear in your head and think is a model t. most people are using dirt in front of those things. you're not going to get the magic of the model t in a pedal. those transformers matched with that tube circuitry just isn't happening in a pedal.
