Re: Dropping dat bass and your mom's pants! (TB Mega Thread
Sooooooo I was playing my bass just now (I've been sick and busy as shit so it's been a minute), first thing I notice is my amp is taking WAY too fucking long to warm up. Then I start playing through my board and I start hearing a weird ticking noise. It's going tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick...and then a soft pop. I wasn't sure what it was. Thought something may have been grounding out on my board. Fucking annoying. So I pulled the plug and got it in direct. Nothing happens after playing for like 5 or so minutes. I plug my B7K in and start playing with just that pedal, nothing happens for about 15 mins then it starts doing that tick, tick shit again.
So now I have to figure out what the fuck is going on. I change cables. Maybe the power supply? The amp? Or the B7K or fuck! The electronics on my fucking bass??? I don't know!!!!!
GOD!!!!!!!!
Not happy.

Ticking is usually some kind of digital clock source... Maybe the bass battery or something plugged in on the same circuit as your amp or pedal power...

Wait..what you saying to me?
My phone was someone around...I wonder if that was causing it. God...face palm if it was.
What about my amp taking for fucking ever to warm up though?

You could be having power surges... You're in the basement right??? Do you have a circuit tester that you could use on the outlets??? See if something else is plugged in that wasn't the last time you were playing... We all know the phone sound right???

Yes indeed, having a phone nearby can cause all sorts of weird shit. Put your phone on or near the amp and have someone else call it. See if replicates that same noise right before your phone rings.
I've had interference exactly as you described.... like a ticking, then pop, then silence.

Walking by a pawn shop today and spotted a Pitchfactor in the window. Glanced at the price and nearly did a spit take...$240!!!
I've been wanting to give one a try as I use an Octaver quite often. At $240 it was a no brainer. And the kicker being that the 240 included tax.
This actually only the second best score I've had at that particular shop. About 4 years ago I scored a Mesa Vtwin pedal for 99 bucks which I sold for 300 which was then used to buy my first few pedals.
Here's proof!

That means the world coming from you.
Also, got a Mini fuck yesterday and put it right on the board for last night's gig. Think I'm in love!

Hmmmm...I'll check it and see how things are going but I might hit you up on that. I got a grill cover and it does go most of the way down to the ground. I'm thinking if I bring it out in the sun once a month or so, it'll be good.
And thanks, $10pussy (this one just hit me. Is that where the name comes from?
