Is it really just bite the bullet and get a keysynth?
I would call that a pretty modern synth tone. So you're talking about the Boss/Behr/Deep Impact/Markbass SS family of pedz that could get close to that. The Deep Impact goes for like a G now, so I'd say either try out the Behringer and see if you like it, or drop the 2 bills to pick up a used Super Synth
Thanks. Deltz agrees with you, too. I had a STRANGE story with an MBSS once.
Back when I was an amateur at pedalphilia, like my 2nd or 3rd pedal was a Markbass Chorus/Flanger. It came in and it was fucking with my brain. I wanted to do Tool sounds.....and this thing didn't do it. It was all funky. Funkified sausage and shit. I plugged it into the comp and it was labeled Super Synth. I somehow landed a Super Synth housed in a Chorus/Flanger's body. Crazy true for realz. Musiciansfriend switched it out for me. I remember not digging it at all.....like.....just way more funky 70's than I would like. But I was really digging that TAAS sound.....so I guess I just don't like straight up synth and back then I wasn't able to see the uses it could have when mixed with dirt.
I don't think you got a production model MBSS because Funky is not how I would describe it. If Funky was someone's goal the MBSS could be forced in that direction but it would need a good bit of editing on the computer.
Gated fuzz for the wins when it to synth. Throw some envelope in that bitch and you can get 90% of the way there. Fuck I like the Super Synth, but it tracked like shit. And the lack of expression control kind of pissed me off. Seems like it should be standard on a pedal like that.
I HATE, fucking HATE dubstep...God damn it! I hate it so much! Sorry...randomness here. The synth bass tone thing reminds me of that for some reason. God. I like the bass tones, but seriously. It all sounds the same.
I'm more of an industrial guy. Gravity Kills, My Life with the Thrill Kill Cult, Ministry, NIN...stuff like that. Those guys bass tones give me wood. HARD WOOD.

lololololololol. Dubstep's just like anything else homie. 90% of it's shit and sounds the same all bland mushy style, but there's some interesting songs out there. and it's exacerbated by being a faddy quick exploding pop thinger. Skrillex is actually one of the most musician like guys doing stuff. i like some of his stuff.
but yah. IDM does a lot of the same stuff but less often and with more varied songs written for people with Audio ADD usually.

The problem with Skrillex for me is that only half of the songs are good. It always sounds good in the middle or the beginning, but never the whole way through. I like the huge bass parts, but the little girl type singing stuff is annoying. Reminds me of the whole screamo thing. With bands like Katatonia (they USED to be amazing!) and Bullet for My Valentine. The screaming parts sound cool, but then they switch over to sissy singing. Ugh. Drives me fucking crazy! The Deftones are the only band to ever pull this off well IMO.
Anyway...yea. lol

I like a some of dubstep but really I HATE Skrillex. To me all he does is sensationalist crap, he might do BRO-STEP better then most but it is what it is which is overblown DJ scratching done with synths. And his bass parts arn't that big compaired to guys like Mala or Mt Eden. But I agree on Industrial .
So....this is Manly Man stuff that I should probably know by now, but I don't. We got some awesome strollers passed down to us for our quints from the secret society of quintuplet/sextuplet parents. This is really a thing. If I disappear from invoking it's name, spread the word. Bring these sons of bitches down. But I digress. The strollers. These things are pretty awesome. We have a double one and a quadruple one and they are HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE. Rugged. Like. These strollers are to other strollers as Mountainking pedals are to the little mini me pedals. And they didn't come with covers. And Louisiana is HUMID. I don't want these things to mildew. I'm not wanting to go on the Mountain Buggy website and spend a fortune on covers.....thinking I can just get away with wrapping these babies in tarps a la a cheap BBQ grill. Is that how it works? Throw a tarp on it? And then tie some bungees or something on the bottom to keep the moisture out? Or is that all not enough?
I need a new grill cover....so I met just go buy one of those and then test it out on the strollers.

Well I say Glory Be cuz the funk was on me.
But that was back in my "new to pedal" days. And it was used. So yeah, maybe I ended up with some funky soul brotha's old ped.

Humidity is a major issue on prams/strollers here in Brisbane too. I think a tarp works but you then need to wipe the pram or stroller over every 4-6 weeks to remove any mould from moisture. Obviously, food and kid mess generates wipe over requirements almost daily but this 4-6 week thing is more for all of the bits they can't reach. Even with a tarp you'll need to maintain this to keep them in good shape I think.
If I can still find the box...you know those little silica packages packed in with electronics and stuff to absorb any moisture that might get into the item's packaging? I've got a small box full of them somewhere around here...a few of those in/on/stuff each stroller might help with any residual moisture from being covered. If I can find them, do you want them?

Sooooooo I was playing my bass just now (I've been sick and busy as shit so it's been a minute), first thing I notice is my amp is taking WAY too fucking long to warm up. Then I start playing through my board and I start hearing a weird ticking noise. It's going tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick...and then a soft pop. I wasn't sure what it was. Thought something may have been grounding out on my board. Fucking annoying. So I pulled the plug and got it in direct. Nothing happens after playing for like 5 or so minutes. I plug my B7K in and start playing with just that pedal, nothing happens for about 15 mins then it starts doing that tick, tick shit again.
So now I have to figure out what the fuck is going on. I change cables. Maybe the power supply? The amp? Or the B7K or fuck! The electronics on my fucking bass??? I don't know!!!!!
GOD!!!!!!!!
Not happy.
