Good stuff. Have you tried the twin on bass much? Was quite liking my Mace head on bass so figured the twin could be nice too. Since getting the Sound City Mark 3 up and running it's taken over though, must get some pics of that up for you.chillerthanmost wrote:Ah, I new I was forgetting something. I still have my twin. Re: Let's see your AMP!
Man I gots the GAS for a new low wattage amp like that micro Orange.... I was saving for the tiny terror, but at the prices they are selling those things for maybe I should bother..... Is that micro worth it? Does it have the guts to compete with a band? Does it have a louder cleanish tone (not that matters really) than the other terrors? The whole hybrid thing messes me up cause a 20 watt ss has to be pushed at absolute max to pretend to keep up with a drummer and most won't last all that long under those conditions. I guess what I am asking what is preferable: Tiny Terror or a Micro Terror and an extra $200 in your pockets?

I use my Twin on bass now and again. It's converted to a head like I think chillerthanmost's is. Sounds very good, especially through a 2x15.moose23 wrote:Good stuff. Yeah his is converted to a head as is my Mace (yeah I know they're not the same but they have a similar 6L6 power section). I'm using single 15s mostly but will have two in the room later this week and hopefully build a 2x15 some time in the not too distant future, but I've been saying that for well over a year.

Re: Let's see your AMP!
Thanks. I have not tried mine on bass yet as I know it's not as powerful as my Univox. I do have it in a head box, so trying it wouldn't be a hassle or anything. I feel my 8x10 (actually, all 8x10's) is not efficient enough to run lower watt amps. My Sunn sounded much better and louder out of a vented 2x15. The 8x10 is easily 20% quieter. I can only assume my Twin would also struggle to keep up on bass that way. I'm searching daily for a nice, vented 2x15 to play a two amp stereo rig full time on bass. I'll definitely put the twin up against my sorado, since I'll have the option of using either, when I find the right cab. On guitar, the sorado is darker with much more low end, I can't imagine I'd take the twin over it on bass, but who knows until I try it. Like I said, it's kinda just been collecting dust sadly. And yes, I'd love to see more MKIII Sound City 100's. I've never played, heard, or have owned a louder and nicer sounding amp than my trusty '68 100 Custom. With the right pedal, it can do anything I want it too. I strictly use it for guitar but it makes a great bass amp as well.moose23 wrote:Good stuff. Have you tried the twin on bass much? Got an Ampeg GVT15h. Running all sorts of fuzz through that and boosting the dirty channel of the Blackstar. I'm so happy with my rig right now

How well does the micro take pedals?vrom wrote:My present for the girltaristfriend's birthday arrived today.
It's fucking loud through a 320w 8ohm Eden Nemesis 2x10.
She is very happy. It very much reminds me of the Monarch at all gain stages, but, you know, more tubey.![]()
I'm shopping around for a decent guitar cab now...
It's so small I almost want to strip it down and put it on her pedal board.... almost.

Might have found two 70s traynor vertical cabs for $120.
By might, I mean I found them, and am in process of trying to buy them.
I have decided I need to catch up to theavodon, and this is the only way how.

Re: Let's see your AMP!
A) started playing my Twin Revetb again tonight. It's loud and ballsy as shit through my EVM loaded 2x12 and my Tall Font Russian driving it.
B) swapped the grill cloth on the 8x10 to a more era correct one. Dig the way it came out.
C) similar picture as before with the exception of the above statements.

the vertical 4x12s? I own two of those from the late 60's. They both blew out, and now one is part of my coffee table.Fuzzy Picklez wrote:Might have found two 70s traynor vertical cabs for $120.

Yep. And right when I am seeking internet validation. Stupid hcfx
I'm super happy with this setup although I can see myself wanting to try something other than the Blackstar in the future.
Mostly I'm just trying to be like you

In that case, you need to replace the Blackstar with an Orange OR15 and call it a day.t-rey wrote:Yep. And right when I am seeking internet validation. Stupid hcfx

I really can't say enough good about the Ampeg. The half power switch is a thing of beauty. I run the gain and volume at noon and my wife doesn't complain. Now if I hit it with a dimed Pharaoh and kick on the Blackstar she may grumble a bit
