This situation happened to me recently with a pair of shoes I'd been after. They took my payment, contacted me a week later explaining the fuck up, took a new order, got back a week later apologizing for lack of stock again! Now I'm waiting for a refund and it's moving crazy slow.

I know it's not gear but the frustration is the same...

Just had this situation happen to me about an hour ago too. Two weeks after I ordered a Couch strap and wallet they emailed me to let me know that they are out of stock on the strap, forever.

I wouldn't have minded if they'd let me know a little earlier, but waiting two weeks is very poor form in my opinion.

That sucks! What strap was it, something deadstock I'm guessing??

Yeah, it was the Original Reverse Byloos or something like that. Doesn't seem to be on their website anymore. Now that my initial irritation is wearing off I'm not sure what to do now, whether I should get a different Couch strap that I don't like quite as much, or try something totally different (like maybe a Souldier strap).

item in question is a Bergantino NV412
ordered last year, paid in full to the Canadian dealer
I emailed Jim Bergantino (it's a one man operation) yesterday to get an ETA on the order after reading on talkbass that the cabs were being discontinued.
jim says he hasn't gotten the order yet from the store
store's telling me to sit tight while they look into it
so i'm gonna avoid spewing poo before I get all my ducks lined up. bear with me. full rant will come.

I really want a 2nd cab of these, they absolutely kill.
& now i'm wondering if the cab being discontinued is going to affect the lifetime guarantee for the one I currently own
considering the boutique price they charge, i'm not gonna be pleased with answers coming my way.

I'm never gonna get this order.
which is quite disappointing because i'm going to have to keep searching for something with so much low end and a fair amount of top end without using a tweeter... :grumpy:

I know Couch stuff is awesome. I was really only annoyed due to the fact that it took them two weeks to let me know. I'd assumed it had already shipped and was on the way to me, so it was a bit of a shock.

I got over it, I've got a vintage green vines strap coming now instead and they refunded me the price difference plus an additional $15, which I didn't ask for at all.

I'm off to get a full refund from moogaudio.
they better not give me any hustle

no true stereo rig for my synth. it was a dream just out of reach, I was so close.
the title of my thread is misleading, It's not really moog's fault. I did order the cab last year when Bergantino was still selling the cabs, they just never placed the order.

I've got several stories (much worse than what it seems like here) about direct manufacturers taking orders and pulling all kinds of bullshit - bait and switch, discontinued, etc. etc...

It definitely ruins your day.

How is this not Moog Audio's fault? Seems like if they're willing to take your money, they should actually place the order with Bergantino.

That sucks dude, makes my problems seem like absolutely nothing. I hope you're able to work something out.

Yeah, that's fucking bullshit. If a company accepts a payment from me, they better fucking order my item. To just sit on my money for months and do nothing would enrage me.
