I know the rusty box could give me some nice sounding distorted bass tones but how is it on clean tones?

Nice and clear. You can give it some bite with the boost switch. But all in all it's got great clear and bold cleans to it

I think the rusty box looks awesome and everyone here raves about them but I've never used one myself. I've got a fishman preamp and I really like it for clean sounds; decent graphic eq, usable compressor if you're into that, options for di pre/post eq.. Last time I used it I got a bunch of compliments about my sound. Need additional pedals for dirt though which is what's attractive about the rusty box.

The rusty box looks to be a really attractive option, I will most likely order one within the week. Thanks guys.

I saw one in the b/s/t and swooped it up really quickly. It has its uses in for certain generic yet good distortion tones. I've never actually tried it DI but I really want to.
