identify this sound

it comes in at about 1:26 and ends around 1:52
then comes back at 2:54, fading out at the end
i can't tell if its a fuzz and whatever else effect on a guitar or just some kind of synth/keyboard

OctaSynth maybe.
Sound like synthy octaver with a square wave fuzz.

No way. There's no way in hell I can bet my ebow to sound anything like that.

sounds like Ebow into a Blue Box or similar octave down fuzz with good tracking. I can make that noise on my M9 with the overdrive into Octave Fuzz (fake blue box with good tracking).
The dynamics are def Ebow though. the timbre is octave down fuzz. Maybe robot devil could do it pretty well.

I think the attack is too fast to be an Ebow. The transition between notes sounds too fast and the start of the notes sound too fast also.
And maybe I just suck at playing mine or use it in a different way.Quirky music for quirky people can be found at http://mannequinraces.bandcamp.com/!

You can hear the picking, there is no way that's an ebow sorry... Judging by this pic they are not afraid of pedals and is probably some fuzz out Pog...
