sad dreams about my ex, AGAIN. i hate it when t wake up at 5:30 with this kind of shit.

also, i got an e-mail regarding the California job asking the difficult questions about my experience that had been avoided so far. which means that i have to write one one of the most important e-mails of my life this morning and sell myself like an evangelist or a two-dollar whore. crap.

sent off the e-mail just now, basically telling them that i'm reasonably current in Framemaker even though my last job was all Quark and InDesign and that i can pick up the PowerPoint stuff i'll need. now i wait with nervous stomach to hear back as to when/whether we'll do the phone interview tomorrow.

meanwhile, i started up the HR-16 after cleaning out the sliders and leaving it to sit and acclimate/thaw for 24 hours, and it works just as well as it did the last time i used it in 1995. coming soon: loop improvisations with percussion content; coming later: MIDI clock sync for drum machine-to-keyboard and drum machine-to-MIDI-rackmounts sync, and potentially MIDI-to-CV conversion for controlliing pedals with an expression jack.

Just received the first round of hospital bills for the kidney stone treatment. $2600 out of pocket for the first trip. No new gear this year.

Got a weird message on fb from an acquaintance, it's just really rambly and there's not like a question or anything and I can't quite make out the point. If my interpretation is correct they're just being nice and offering to talk if I need it (I think about queer stuff because as an older gay man he feels like he can help?) which is nice, but the message and getting it makes me so fucking uncomfortable. HOW DO I RESPOND. It says something about starting and deleting several times, and yeah well I wish that's what you did, not that I don't appreciate the kind intent but I feel really stressed. And it's silly because this isn't a thing to freak out about but here we go. I'm a little tempted to just ignore it, but I would feel a little bad about that since the only problem here is one I'm creating by being bad at talking to people on the internet. IRL it's easy to talk normally, stop someone halfway through if you're not sure where they're going and stuff. But talking to people I don't know on the internet like sending important emails or things like this where I don't know the person that well or they say something weird UGHHHHH.

/stupid bullshit because I needed to rant and I can't really talk to any irl friends because they know the guy and I don't think that's cool

Well now I feel bad for having stupid problems. :( Hang in there man, I'm sure things will turn around, and moving in with your parents wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen!

Kate's still sick :(

We've moved plans to tomorrow, again. Hopefully this time it'll work out.
