Next Polyphonic Octave Generator??

Hey,

Does someone got secret intel from any boutique pedal master about him making a polyphonic octave generator?
Cause I don't really like the Pog 2 (too cold, and I heard that ehx pedals break easily), I kind of dislike the voicing and tracking of the Organizer, and I desperate having an organish pedal that I like on my board!!!!

I dont know why you dont like the pog...it sounds great and I've never had any problems with mine.

On one of the most influant french gear forum, a lot of folks have complains about the durability of the ehx enclosures, switches and toggles
Maybe french people are stupid !!!!
Maybe that's why I consider myself much an ILFer than a french guy...

What about something like the new Infanem Second Voice Deluxe?

Would that do what you need?

I don't "really" like the POG2 either. It's great at what it does and I like the sound of it when other people use it, but it puts too much of a stamp of its own sound upon your signal. No matter how you try, it always sounds like a POG2. It's pretty distinct sounding. I'd prefer a pedal that allows for a little bit more of an individual sound.

I haven't tried it, raphaël, so I don't know if it'd work, but what about parallel processing your signal? You can run a few different octave devices and blend the sound to your liking? It might be a little more work and be more expensive, but it also might give you greater control of the sound you're after.

Maybe try a regular POG as opposed to the POG2? Lots of folks seem to prefer that early model except for the enclosure size.

I love both and use a POG2 now but understand why others may not dig it so much. I use it mainly for suboctave stuff and run it into fuzz, sounds pretty natural in that application. I mean, when you run the organ sounds it will definitely impart it's own sound as noted above but it's an organ sound, not the most natural of guitar tones you know...

Regardless, there's nothing else out there like the POG series, not yet at least.

Theres also a poly octaver with reverb and a poly octaver with chorus and reverb. Ive not tried any zcat pedals but maybe its worth a try. There are some seemingly really cool pedals by them.

The new Digitech Whammy (both the regular sized 5 and the big ol' DT) track chords perfectly, in my opinion.

I know Zcat pedals, I'm quite of having a very small gas on their Spring reverb, but those polyoctaver aren't tracking well imo...
The Whammy gen5 seems to be good but it doesn't play more than one other octave right?
Also I hate how it looks and don't want one on my board...ok, I know, this is insanely stupid

You'd need something to split your signal. I think there're many devices that could do it. A mixer would work.

I don't have much experience with parallel processing, but've always been interested. Combing effects in parallel results in very different sounds than combining 'em in series. Effects are capable of sounding clearer and more distinct. You can use effects more subtly or not, but you'd have more control over the final sound. You can blend the signal paths in ways that'd eliminate the mushiness which is sometimes the result of stacking too many effects. In your case, you'd be doing something that's not possible with running the effects in series. I'm not actually sure this would work to get you the sound you want, but it's just a thought.

+1 The octave down could be a little fatter sounding, but I'm really happy with my whammy 5 overall.
