I like it. I mean it isn't the best in allsituations, but it definitely works. Especially for my past bandmates sound, which was her Mustang->Big Muff->Ghost Echo->Classic 30 and it sounded huge. She had other fuzzes like the TAFM, Ab-synth, Devi US, etc. but she used her Big Muff for the most part.

Example: https://soundcloud.com/sterratic/phantom-pains

She is mixed to the right, while I am on the left and it is only 66 ri mustang->big muff->classic 30

It may not sound awesome through your rig, but for the price it doesn't hurt to try one out.

Change a handful of components and you can get a ten times better (imo) pedal, the newer ones with the blue pcb need fewer changes than the older reissues with yellow pcb.

Thanks for the sample (dig the Song and the overall sound BTW). Sounds pretty Good.

And thanks at all for the Input. I was really wondering if we Never talked about that Standard and Common Version :idk:
I don't mind ordering it to Test and i know there a couple of better Takes on the Muff Out there. But that Big Box Talks to me. So i will give in and Order it. Will See how it Works Out for me.

Like probably most people reading this thread I've owned quite a few muffs and variations. I love the muff circuit more than any other drive. It's evil, full sounding. Unfortunately so many of them don't cut through a band mix. The black russian muff is probably my favorite version but in a band setting the volume knob needed to be full CW to be heard. The LSTR was another favorite of mine. It was sooo huge sounding when I was just playing by myself but as soon as it was time to jam all the tightness disappeared. Running an EQD Hoof V6 right now. It's based on the russian muff and is quite close I think and additionally has that Shift knob that really tightens up the growl and let's it come through in band situations.

I think for nearly the same $$$ (assuming you've got a soldering iron already) you can put together a Big muff kit and do any mods you want to tweak the sound. (Make it more like a Russian muff or whatever). Just an idea! :thumb:
