I made some changes to the Dirge Telemaster so I thought I'd share a new pic....
I swapped out the squier jazzie neck for an old Jagmaster neck I had lying around, I like it more because its thicker and wider and has the big headstock. I also added brass compensated tele saddles to dial in the intonation, and then adjusted the pickup screws to balance out the string response since its a neck p/u only guitar. It sounds so thick but not uber low heavy, and the articulation improved. SUPER fvcking happy with it right now.

eBayed parts guitar. Body is kinda like a Jackson Kelly, but it's not. It's a work in progress: the EMG "Select" is a shitty pup but it was around when I needed something to throw in it. I have a Dimebucker that's gonna go in its place. The Babicz whamaloo bar is the shit though, great replacement for a Fender style whalmdingey. Ultimately there will be stereo out with a homemade bass pickup in the neck hole, as for my Bacteria setup I have a split and pitch-shifted signal dealy. Right now my main hatchet is a no-name strat copy, a style of guitar I never thought I'd be into until I found a drop-in pickguard/pup assembly with a single humby and vol knob, which changed my whole perspective. But anyway, this is my metal fucking guitar from heck.
Achtane wrote:Kinda want to now They'll piss my friend off, so they're probably worth it. Actually that's a definite purchase now. Revamped the 'lectronics tonight -- put a contact mictwo contact mics on the underside of the trem plate and pickguard; they and the pickup are either on or off now. So really there are three contact mics. I wish they were a little louder. Also put the springs back in because I found out that the oversized arm I ordered and couldn't use on the other guitar fits this one, yaaaay. Embarrassingly, this guitar stays almost perfectly in tune after abusing the vibrato...I love the SGV but it's a pain in the ass to configure to the point where it isn't fucked after some gazin'.
Liquid flux is the shit. Dip a wire in it before soldering and it's tinned the instant the iron touches it. It leaves marks on aluminum surfaces though...
You have a full body shot of this thing? Looks killer!

Searching for that new sound.
If you can read this, then I'm back?
I fixed the terribly high action by putting a few folded up pieces of thin cardboard in the neck pocket...should be okay as long as I don't drown it. It's really fun to play, I like the simplicity. Also I sharpie'd the rounded edge of the headstock because those old Marauder/Starcaster ones are cool

Really though, psyched for you Ancient. I bet it plays a dream
Yeah I have some nice outdoor shot setups in my backyard, I love taking photos in front of that tree. And dude it plays sooo freakin sweet now, I strung it with .11-.54's in E standard and its awesome. You have to come by sometime soon and check it out now, honestly the biggest difference was adjusting the pickups pole pieces even with a bassy high gain pickup theres no mud at all and all the notes ring out lcearly.
