Seven string guitar in alt rock/shoegaze project?

Post by Documents 400-484 »

Interesting. Faintly reminds me of the Constants album "Pasiflora".

Not very common in shoegaze-influenced alt rock, is it?

My guess is this is an attempt at self-promotion.
But I could be totally wrong / an ass.

I was surprised at the seven string in the video being that usually sevens are played in a more metal context, predictably. And "shoegaze-influenced" mostly because of the vocals. Like the band Constants as I originally pointed out. Not so much a shoegaze band but because of their vocals they tend to be called "shoegaze-y". Pointed out here in the gear section of the forum because that's really what I'm pointing out. A guitar. And thus why the topic name ended in a question mark. As if to say; "huh?"

Just thought it was rather interesting. That is all. Wasn't meant to become what it became.

I'm not as impressed when a metal band plays 7 or 8 string guitars. It's become cliche. It's like metal bands wait to see what Meshuggah does first before following suit. I appreciate more when non-metal bands play 7 or 8 strings because they show that 7 and 8 string guitars aren't just for heavy music.

You have less than 10 posts here, all accumulated over the course of three threads, all of which are pimping this band "Le Recourder Larouge". We can only assume that you are spamming us to get people into this band (whether it is your band, or a friends, is irrelevant).

We each give each other recommendations for music, but only after we establish that we are here to talk about shit and be part of a community. Until then, you are a spammer. So either stay here, discuss things with us and be a part of the community, or FOAD. :hello:

Hm. Interesting how you don't mention my postings about the bands Toma or Constants. Maybe I'm in all three bands. Go me.
