I just blend the sub octave in to my ECT to thicken things up, so it's not exactly a prominent effect but damn does it make a difference.

I really like electronic music, so I just want to mimc the basslines in that. But, I think I'll just try saving up and buying a bass rig for real instead.

Also, I'm really surprised by the Robot Devil love. I only played it on bass, but I couldn't get it to do anything except glitch.

Octave down pedals sound noooothing like bass, octave down fuzz (which is the only octave down I use) is a totally different flavour of sound to actual fuzz bass and that's why it's cool, something different. I'd always use an actual bass for basslines in recordings, but octave down is great for super thick synthy lead stuff.

Wasn't planning on replacing bass with just a pedal, just like the Octasynth/Bit Commander wouldn't replace a real synth. Just trying to cop some certain sounds. :)*

I Play it through a 300 Watt Tube bass amp with 4x12 and no one ever misses a bass. It is a different sound than a bass, but i wouldn't say it is lacking in depth. To me The octave Down stuff is more synthy than Most of The bass sounds i come up with. But perhaps i already decide what to use with The First Song idea...

Yeah I wasn't saying you can't use it as an alternative to bass, I can get way cooler synth sounds with octave down fuzz than just bass fuzz, just saying I don't use it for that myself much.

3 octave down is pretty nuts!

the tone of that pedal reminded me of the Perseus I used to have...
