Cocksuckers On Shitty Meth

Though I do have two such Boss pedals myself, the RE-20 Space Echo and RC-50 Loop Station... of which the Space Echo doesn't - to my ear - do a bad job at all. :idk: The Loop Station I can live with. Most of the time.

Actually, those are the Roland/Boss designers.

COSM: Composite Object Sound Modeling
Once a musical instrument generates sound vibrations, it reaches the human ear through various mediating, objects, each of which significantly affects the sound. The material and configuration of the instrument, the electric/magnetic amplifying system, the air and the reverberation of the room all affect the final sound. Sound modeling, the latest DSP technology, "virtually" reconstructs these objects. Roland's breakthrough Composite Object Sound Modeling (COSM) uses the advantages of multiple modeling methods and succeeds in accurately emulating existing sounds, as well as producing sounds that have never before been created.
Good B/S/T dealings with: univalve, DannDubbleEwe, Shish, ThePastRecedes, GiAnt_ROboT, chutneyfarmer, Muse FTW, robapov, skullservant, MaxMaps, psychedelicrelic, guitarslinger21, space6oy, theshoegazer, bongoben, osbornkt

Yeah, that, same difference, straight from BOSS/Roland page. :)

I have no problem with the COSM stuff providing you know how to adjust it.

The '63 verb pedal does a relatively decent job of doing the spring metallic nasty of the actual units, just without some of the 'you can kick it' fun.

The outboard reverb units from the era it's mimicing aren't shoegaze verbs.

That said, they all have their place, I have zero issues iwth the COSM stuff in my GR-55. It's not perfect emulation, but nothing ever will be.

Demographics here just hate production line stuff.

My pedalboard costs approximately 191 Metal Zones.

So true.

Sometimes warranted, sometimes unwarranted. :hobbes:

I'm just not a fan of modeling or multi-effects. I have been happy with most of the MXR and Maxon/Guyatone stuff I have tried. For me, it just always seems like there's always a better alternative to most of the Boss stuff out there.

Yeah, I'm no fan of modeling or multi-effects either. And I'll be the first one to admit I harbor irrational prejudices. I'd also like to believe that I give things a fair chance though. Can't knock it until you try it.
