Hey all, I'm looking at getting the Wattson FY-2 fuzz to do that 'Just like Honey' tone, however it's my understanding that JAMC used it in a fuzz-wah at a single position for the right tone / frequency.
Is there a way to replicate this using the FY-2 and a wah? If so, which wah? I'm not interested in using the wah traditionally (back and forth as the notes play).
Or am I better off saving for & finding an actual Shin Ei fuzz-wah?
The reason I'd prefer going the Wattson route is I have their FY-6 and absolutely love it.

That one boutique wah maker guy makes a fixed wah that sounded really good. Not RMC, that other guy. I forget the name. And it has an exp in if you ever want to do the traditional wah thing.

I think Wilson did a parked Wah at one point, not sure if he still does.

Did you ever read that sometime/all the times recording one brother would be on the floor doing pedals whilst the other strummed away???

You may need a little boy servant to dial in the mids for lead lines. But really psychocandy sounds are absolutely some of my favorite fuzz sounds.

You can do DIY tricks to reduce the impact of the mid-scoop eq circuit in the FY-2 and FY-6 and their variants. The mid-scoop is where two resistors, usually 15k and 10k, go to a cap to ground right before the volume control. You can wire in a pot (50K is typical) between the cap and ground to reduce the scoop (ZVex Octane does this), or you can switch in resistance, including on a stomp switch for a performance-switchable mid boost.
