AC15C1 Bright Cap mod!
I'm ready to go for this route, a question though.. do I really need have those caps completely unsoldered and clean everything up, or it'll be fine just to clip the legs off and leave the rest of the booger there? Would it becomes a problem or different/effects anything in the result? Note that I don't have any experience on these stuffs and no soldering iron at the moment. Just wanna have this amp to be more friendlier to dirt pedals. Thanks gorgeous fuzzers!

I just clipped it and it seems to have worked. I don't know if it's right or wrong though I don't know much about circuits etc.
Sounds much much better after the mod.

I don't understand the mod to this amp. It's really not a bright amp and it's got a tone cut. Why would you need this? Sounds like it would turn it into a very dark amp.

Pretty sure this mod isn't meant to kill the treble or to make it darker. This amp has that harshness when it's cranked up and such a bitch (my experience anyway) to find the right dirt pedals in front of it when the amp is set to the edge of break up, cos it tends to go harsher a lot more. Especially with those chinese stock tubes.. almost laughable cos it has that crackling/fizzyness laying underneath my guitar sounds. Now that I've changed them with JJ's with the highest headroom, it sounds SO MUCH better. But that harshness wouldn't go away completely when it's cranked. Thus the mod has been considered.
