The down side of used pedals
So I have received a few used pedals this week form all over the world and there is one thing that is in common that I hate. When I get a pedal that has velcro with a mix of animal hair, pubes, grass, drugs and what looked like white gum... there is such a thing as white gun right? Please tell me that's all it is.
I always have to give my used pedal buys what I call "The Cleansing" before they hit my board.
Anyone else have this issues or is it just my luck?

I've definitely left the velcro on, but I let the homies know in advance.

I feel my pedals are a reflection of myself so I like to put the good foot forward and nice face toward the World...

Sometimes when I'm rushed in the mornings when I pack pedals I forget to take the velcro off. But I don't leave the bushy side on the pedals so usually they don't collect anything. I kind of like gross looking pedals?

I totally agree. I always clean up my stuff before I ship it out. I want it to be revived like I would want it received.
To be clear, I never got anything from ILF members yet. Most stuff I got was private party or eBay.

Re: The down side of used pedals
I give mine a cleaning when they come in so I don't have to put someone else's pubes on my board, but I've only had a couple bad ones (not from here). What is the preferred method for de-wooking pedal velcro? I use a knife or needle. I use tape when the nastiness is laid on thick, but it's probably faster to just re-velcro at that point.
Looking back at a pic of the last pedal I sent out, I saw a couple of hairs (non-pube) and 2 fuzz balls in the velcro. I really thought I was a better person than that

I always leave the velcro on because I like pedals having velcro and so I figure most other people do, but I use the hook-y side on the pedals too so they never get too dirty, I hope. Thinking about it now, I've never actually checked for it specifically (though I give stuff a decent general clean to be polite), so I hope I've never sent anything totes grody to anyone here!
Everything I've ever recieved from an ILF homie has been exactly like they said it would be, nice and clean, best place for deals I've ever found.

velcro usually comes off pretty easily.....it sucks when it is apply over a sticker....like earthquaker devices or dr scientist....
