Now that i have tried "nice" booooteeek pedals, I think it is time to try some "shitty" distortion pedals!!!! Well you know what I mean, The DOD death metal sounds down right disgusting. I am picking up a DOD supra distortion fx55b this friday for 15 bucks. I mean for 15 bucks, why the f@!!!! not.

I actually got a pretty nice sound out of it today, but I didn't play it in a band setting yet so I have no idea..
Seems like it loses a bit of low midrange tho.

Re: Best cheap/ under appreciated pedals

I just picked up this supra distortion. It is really raw and perfect for punk rock guitar. I got it mainly because my one friend grew up with this pedal and he bases all his distorted sounds on this tone, so it will make him excited. Plus it was 15 bux, so why not?????!!
I'm on a little cheap DOD kick and it rules.

Re: Best cheap/ under appreciated pedals
I used a DOD death metal for flipping years in a band setting and it was huge
tons of low end
Ran it and a grunge plus a rogue overdrive and an arion metal master
That was my dirt for about 5 years and it murdered people in their faces
all would qualify as cheap pedals too
Board in order: HA, because everyone was hoping that I would share this..........
Crybaby:Ibanez Comp2:Rogue Overdrive: Grunge: Arion Metal Master: Death Metal: Boss Super Chorus: Ibanez DL10
played metal like that forever, and it was awesome
I used a 2 stage epoxy and just glued them all down to a board, each pedal had it's own wall wart too, I had them attached to two power strips that I then taped all together and stuck in an old shoe box that was also glued to the board, man I wish I had pictures of that old monstrosity.
That supra looks pretty sweet by the way.

All knobs dimed, of course. I love the idea of playing metal through those pedals with a shoebox pedal board. I would love to see that mess of wires and tape.

Re: Best cheap/ under appreciated pedals
it was wonderful, sometimes I look down at all my pedals and get depressed when I realize I used to get amazing sounds with super cheap gear.

Re: Best cheap/ under appreciated pedals
Ibanez DE-7 and PM-7. But the PM-7 has a bit of a clock bleed issue sometimes if it's put infront of a fuzz.
DOD FX75C. Super thick, awesome flanger. I liked it better than the BF-2.
Behringer in general, I think, gets unfair flack for build quality just because they're plastic. That said, the circuits do have some noise issues sometimes.
The DOD/Digitech Grunge can be awesome with a couple of simple tweaks. It's pretty cool as is, though.
I just don't dig having non true bypass stuff in general, though.
