It's like a HUGE obnoxious difference for whatever reason.
Dude, my friend has a similar muff, and got an Upper from Tom to use as a TB loop, and then also the octave up in even more intense moments of distortion.
BUH. I'm really fucking torn. I want to try to narrow down a lot of my DIY builds into one mega unit with TB loops throughout, so I've only got a handfull of pedals on my board. But at the same time, UPPER.

You're nifty enough with the iron to just rehouse the UPPER into such a thing. Owen will approve.
I've done about 20 different sketches to get my current board in the state that it is now into one giant (mostly) multieffect. It'd have an optical compressor, cavedweller delay, rub a dub reverb, sho, and 4 true bypass loops in it... I think something like 9 stomps? I'm really considering narrowing down my board a bit, seeing what I can do about making it so the Rusty Box, Shimverb, and Green Muff are the only thing on the board other than my loopers. But I dunno. It wouldn't be HARD, I'd just want to make it so that everything could be switched. Hammond sells sloped enclosures larger than wfs1234's Multieffect guy, something like 21 inches wide by 11 that might do the trick, but I'm still messing around with the idea. Would be neat to have an Upper in there

Still worth it in some respects if it becomes part of your sound, but it can definately be annoying if you use different amps or plug straight in (like that ever happens)
yeah, but crybabies suck! only good wah is a fixed wah
i generally agree but my "sound" has always been fairly simple (v3 muff and a delay... everything else is a bonus) and thus is both easy to cop with any amp and simple enough that it does not overpower the inherent characteristics of a given amp. maybe i have to use amp eq to makeup for the muff a little bit, but not so much that it destroys all my clean signal (not like i play into a completely clean amp all the time anyway).
Lot of EHX there and some nice DBA... I used to have an EF-303...
haha thanks.. she photobombed my picture pretty well. I just loved it. The wife and I were laughing about it most of the night.
The EF-303 is great for filters. The cut off and res is so sharp and harsh I love it. Every time I think of getting rid of it I play with it and it ends up back in my arsenal.

I desperately need one. Its on my list but that list has grown so much. I have built a few of them but I can never nail the sound of the tall front like I want. So I guess I'll just have to drop the $200 for one.
