sounds/looks to me like if Tosh is playing live at all, then the keyboard takes over by ~3:03, when the trill has nothing at all to do with what Peter's fingering. i think Peter, who in my memory was never noted for lead playing, is miming while the keyboardist supplies the lead and the filter sweeps as you can see him doing at the start/end of the track.

OK, I just listened to a studio recording. It may be a little easier to tell them apart. It's really difficult because they're so similar sounding.

I think the really resonant percussive stuff you're hearing is from the Clavinet.

They're playing along together. It's a little deceiving that the camera stays on Tosh. When they cut to the keyboard player at @3:30, you can see he's got his right hand on the Clavinet. Audio sync seems to be just a bit off. Hope this helps. Maybe you wanna Clavinet?

the wah just sounds like a crybaby, but the guitar isn't upfront. especially those pronounced sweeps or bends are coming from the clavinet.

Get a wah anyway! They're fun! I just got the ernie ball wah earlier this week. Can't wait till it gets here! I found it for $45.

Would you post your impressions of it, please, after you've played it a while? I've been interested in those because of their allegedly longer throw, but have no idea what it'd be like to actually play one. No idea if they sound any good. Were you specifically looking for one or was it just that it came up at a good price?

Will do, good sir!
I knew I wanted a wah that wasn't so present/spiky all the time so I was lookin for a 535q because of the extra controls and the hopefully cheaper price (especially because I'm just getting a wah for the heck of it). But I'd kept a few others in mind and one of them was the EB wah because its supposedly pretty mellow and never spiky or mushy.
But I found an MLJr. from this guy and he offered the EB wah for $45 too since I was getting his delay. I couldn't pass it up. So a little of both!

Hey. It got here this morning and I've been messing around with it. It's a pretty dry sounding wah. It seems like the way it works with my amp makes it sound kinda dry. But I like it. It can get the wet sounding stuff if you "wah it" faster to some wobbly sounds. The last wah I had was kinda awful (too exaggerated and just crappy) and this is a big step up. With dirt, it's even more subtle. So I tried it od>comp>fuzz>wah>amp od instead of wah first and helped bring it out more. But it did sound kind of awful when I was dirt>wah on the clean channel, but I would expect that from any wah. And I wouldn't say as much mellow as it is just dry. But not in a bad way.
The physical pot sweep is a lot less than my volume pedal. But EB claims its a bigger sweep than other wahs so I'll take their word for it. I don't remember the foot action on my last one. But don't think bigger foot sweep = bigger frequency sweep.
This is my interpretation from what I've read and messing around with it ----

normal wah freq sweep
//////////\\\\\\\\\\

EB wah
xxxx//////\\\\\\xxxx

It just sounds like it has a smaller frequency sweep that keeps it out of mushy lows and tinny highs, but makes it a little more subtle as a side effect. It stays in the low mids-high mids, I guess. But it's never shrill or mushy!
Overall, it's a keeper (for now at least)! It's not overly subtle, like i may have put off but you can tell a difference. It just keeps you in the more useable range of the sweep.
Oh, it's got an awesome green light too! That's definitely a plus. And it's on both sides so it just lights up your board!

I like that... I have the Silver Crybaby and it's great, has a boost and several modes so I can change it up with different pedals...

Anyone ever sat down and played two wah's at once; with a delay in the middle??? :trippy:

Thanks, zRobertez. As I suspected, sounds like it's not for me. I like broad sweeps and wide frequency ranges.
