Ok total noob question.
I'm replacing the switch on my boss dd3. First, I could have swore that the original switch clicked when engaged. The pedal stopped working and I figured that since it didn't click anymore it was the switch. Then I got the replacement switch and it doesn't click either. Granted I haven't put it in yet, but isn't it supposed to click? Second, what kind of solder should I use?

i've never heard of a boss pedal that "clicked". sometimes the pedal makes a clicking type noise if the rubber wears down or is missing from the hole that you place the screw on the foot switch.
and as for solder, i think thinner is better when you're working with little pedal electronics (like something gauged in the 20s). i use rosin core, but everyone has their own preference. just go to radio shack and eye out what size you think will be best. anything will get the job done, really. there's also a thread in this forum explaining different solder types - http://ilovefuzz.com/viewtopic.php?f=151&t=7209 it's right on that first post, a quick summary.

Thanks dude. Really appreciate it. I hope it's just the switch because I really don't know how to trouble shoot the damn thing and I don't think I could fix anything else on it.

Re: Ok total noob question.
no problem. and if it turns out to not be the switch, it could be something silly that the pedal brainiacs on here could figure out with some gut shots.
good luck
good luck
